What did you do about the phone? Hopefully a new battery?

FWIW, my iPad 2 still runs like a champ on iOS 7. And will continue to do so as iOS 8 doesn't bring enough to the party to update on that model.

I kept it for a while longer, then someone gave me a broken iPhone 4 which I got replaced by Apple with the out of warranty replacement :)

The 3GS is still my backup phone, and it goes everywhere as it has all my Music on it that doesn't fit on my 16 GB 5. Sadly a few months back, the battery expanded, but I replaced the battery myself and its good now.

iOS 8 will start to bring more to the table when Yosemite and is released and Apple enables more iOS 8 features. My main gripe is iOS 8 doesn't allow for iPhoto to run and I really need it. Also performance of course is downgraded.

iOS 7 phone's home a lot checking for updates. All you need to do is connect once to iTunes or to iCloud and it will check for an update. My advice is to just forget the badge, nothing will download unless Wifi is turned on and you are plugged into a charger or a Mac USB port.

I just tried this on my Air by changing the date, moving it forward by one day and I got the update notification for iOS 8. It wasn't connected to iTunes. So yeah iOS 7 definitely phone's home checking for updates.

Has anyone with an iPad 2 who has upgraded to iOS 8 found their screen has stopped working?

My mate was using his aOK. He's upgraded to iOS 8 and now the touchscreen is non-responsive; I've done the power button/home button trick and also restored to factory settings but it's a no go!

Maybe we should start a class action lawsuit to force Apple to let iPad 2s to downgrade. I updated thinking it would be iOS 7 optimized but it's terrible.
I want to sell it but I don't think anyone would pay what I want if they tried it out.
It locks up all the time and Safari is a total piece of crap in iOS 8.

Mine has may time. Trying to swipe in locks up so often it's a nightmare to use.

IPad 2

I also lock up all the time since the upgrade. I thought it was getting better for a while, but no such luck. i also can't copy and paste since the upgrade. Anyone have a cure for that? This gets more and more frustrating all the time.
