This. Get this. You won't be disappointed. I love mine. It's probably the best screen protector I've ever had in any device.

After some not so good experencies with zagg and some no name brands i finaly got an sgp screen protector. And i can confirm the positiv experences with sgp. I had/have all screen protectors from sgp. The ultra cyrstal clear on my ipad 1 ipad 2 and iphone 4. The ultra opticts is currently on my iphone.

Since thursday i am using the anti fingerprint on the new ipad. In some way i am very happy with it...no fingerprints at all. Perfect! But....on the other side the retina display lose it remarkable quality. I will use the anti fingerprint some more days but i think i will install the ultra optics or the cystal clear on my new ipad.
But definetly a sgp screen protector again.

Just my few thoughts

Do not really like...

Using MediaDevil Crystal and it picks up any oil and smears the screen. Needless to say I am somewhat regretting using it. I used to use Matte which did not show up as bad, but did not want the pixelation on the HD screen.

I just got the Zagg Invisible Shield HD and its great! It looks more like glass and It doesn't have that orange peel look like the original version. Also it feels more like glass and not rubbery like the original version. Just make sure you get the HD Version. Very happy with this purchase.

I'm with iceman got the hd zagg had geeksquad install you can't even tell there's a screen protecter on it

finally i've bought the Spigen Ultra Clarity.
I love the "dry" application, i've never felt safe whith the "wet" installation of the previous protector i used.

The screen quality is the same as before, the only thing is that the fingerprint are quite noticeable and not so easy to remove.

Anyway, so far i'm happy with the purchase!

Thanks anyone for the suggestions ;)

How's the zagg HD owners screen shield holding up? In my personal opinion it still feels horrible like the first one. I just got it installed and it does add a little clarity but it still feels really grippy. Not anywhere near the glass feeling IMO. Think I'm gonna rip it off and return it.

I've been using my protector from Amazon for about 4 months now. It's called ArmorSuit, and it's been extremely solid.

It does the trick. It gives you absolutely protection and doesn't affect the screen's vision. Hope this helps!

I wouldn't recommend the SGP Glas.t unless you have money to burn.

They have production issues to workout.

I have the SGP UO, I purchased it from SGP before I decided not to buy from them again.

The UO is a strange anti-glare. It isn't anti-glare enough to cut glare well but it also doesn't degrade the retina display...much if at all. So it is weird. I spend 1/2 my time wanting to take it off. i figure I just need to go bare and deal with the glare.

I mean if it isnt cutting glare why deal with even the minor retina reduction. The UO is good with taming fingerprints though but doesn't work well with the Bamboo stylus.

I just got the new Moshi iVisor XT. It's their new CLEAR model for the iPad 3. Went on in like 5 seconds and the screen looks and feels like it has nothing on it. It is NOT anti-glare or anti-fingerprint. I find it comparable it to the Powersupport crystal and 100x easier to install. If I can apply it (my hands are not very steady) anyone can. It is removable, reuseable and washable.

Could you comment on if it works with a stylus? TIA!

For the low entry cost, Monoprice screen protectors seem pretty good to me. They are a pain to install and there is sort of sheen to the material on the bezel and when the screen is off (rainbow effect maybe?). Still, they are so cheap it's a good alternative and if nothing else, a means to practice installing these kinds of film.

That being said, I plan to upgrade to a Moshi XT now that they are out. I'm assuming that Moshi's is more protective, but at least I know that I can happily live with the rainbow effect. Doesn't bother me.

If you want a solid all around protector without an orange peel effect, I'd recommend the one I purchased through Amazon.

The ArmorSuit protector that I purchased isn't as pricey as well. Hope this helps. cheers!

Screen Protector Requirement

Being a KISS person, I attempted to get my local Apple store to address this issue.

Query: Which screen protector do you recommend for the iPad?
Answer: We don't have any particular recommendation

Query: Do you recommend using a screen protector?
Answer: We have no recommendation one way or the other.

Query: Do you sell any screen protectors for the iPad?
Answer: No.

Based on the fact that Apple stores sell lots of other accessories for the iPad and all their other goodies, that answer may be a very good indicator as to the real need for a screen protector.

I expect a deluge of replies to this post.

They stopped selling and being allowed to recommend them beginning with the iPad 2 because "they didn't want to give the impression to customers that one was needed." When they did sell them it was exclusively the Powersupport brand. It was strictly a "Steve" decision according to the blogs back then. It's probably the same reason they no longer sell 3rd party cases but only Smartcovers.

Of course one is "not necessary" just like a case is "not necessary" but some folks like to keep their device pristine. I do that just for resale value. Despite what they say they do scratch (just like real gorillas).

No, because I don't use a stylus.
