does anyone know if the iPad 3 is the same size as the iPad 2? I am looking to purchase a case for the iPad 3 and want to make sure. Thanks!

It does look like one that it has to fit into, so the width may be an issue. If it were me I'd ask the question before ordering. At least that would make it easier to return it is they say it fits but it doesn't

Looks like most of the cases, including the smart cover compatible ones, won't be out until around launch day, or after. Amazon is total fail, with 3 to 4 week waits for them. I did find some decent ones that are smart cover compatible. Targus makes one, called the VuComplete that is smart cover compatible, and resembles the back piece of an Otterbox case. I may just go to Walmart and look for one next week when my iPad arrives.

Marware has them and is shipping. I just ordered their microshell back cover to use with the Apple Smart Cover.

Meh, I'm more into the Otterbox style, (shock protection and slip resistant). The polycarbonate cases are nice on my iPod Touch, but I'd prefer something more durable for my iPad.

I just ordered an Incipio Lexington hard shell. It looks a lot like my STM Skinny but in faux leather. Hope it's nice.

Otterbox has a case available now.

I ended up going for a Scosche Snapshield, which is compatible with my smart cover. Got it for 1/2 off at Buy.com, (reg $39.99, paid $19.99 + $5 shipping). This one works for both iPad 2 and the new iPad.
