That mean the boobs in the porn I watch can be felt? Awesome!

If it does happen, I highly doubt it'd be called the iPad touch, far too close to the iPod touch

Okay, let's do the opposite then. Lower our expectation so much that the new iPad specs will seem incredibly impressive!

I predict the next iPad will feature:
- A totally new half-core CPU running at 100 MHz, which allows Apple to increases the battery life by 10%
- iPhone 3 screen resolution in the same 9.7 inches size, allowing the use of a weaker GPU to increase battery life by yet another 12.7%
- no CDMA, 3G or LTE chip or antenna because those are the real battery-drainers. The new iPad will only feature 802.11g Wi-Fi since there's McDonald's everywhere.
- only 1GB of Flash storage to reduce the cost. Wi-Fi is free, so use the iCloud to store your files!
- Because of the limited space and slower CPU, the new iPad will only be able to run iOS3. You'll never be out-of-date again, iOS3 forever!
- no touch screen. It may seem like a big step backwards, but the new iPad will feature an integrated gamepad to allow you to move a cursor around the screen.
- no built-in speaker. Getting audio via only the headphone jack was good enough for the first generation iPod touch, it's good enough for the new iPad.

It's like... the anti-rumor!

Haptic feedback, no way

Unless Corning has been involved also, the idea of haptic feedback cannot be in the cards. Is Gorilla glass compatible with Senseg's haptic feedback?

If haptic feedback is in the picture, they won't have to say much. They bring on Stevie Wonder or Sheena Iyengar (of TED fame).

So, it'll be one of these then? :D

Amazing

With this, we can break one more barrier, here in DANGER SOFT we think about Digital Braille, stimulation for infants with down syndrome, etc.....

That's why DANGER SOFT calls Touch Generation. We will see nice new apps if this rumor is true

Um...why would it be renamed at all? The iPad is already a TOUCH device

I'm not saying it would be renamed :) Some people were saying that's what it would be renamed to, and I'm saying I doubt it.

more fuel for haptic fire

Google this, feel Lucky:

"And Senseg said, "We are discussing business with companies other than Toshiba. E-book readers and tablet PCs using the new technology will be shipped in the first half of 2011. And we expect that smartphones will come with the technology in the second half of 2011"

Also iPad has been measured as 0.8mm thicker?
Senseg video guy says the film is 0.7mm

Being able to feel the air hockey paddle is nice and all, but if it can't simulate the skin-breaking sensation of a well-placed puck raise, the illusion will be lost!

Don't be silly! Who needs an integrated gamepad when they could just revert to click-wheel??:D

My thoughts

Virtual controls becoming less virtual? That would be a big step forward for iOS gaming.

If they add haptic feedback, and Bluetooth to Apple TV, I think they have enter the console war as a true contender. Even just the Bluetooth will go a long way..

That's right, I remember that Corning press release in which they provided access to all the projects they're working on and specifically said they're not working on any type of haptic coating for Apple.

I'd welcome it. Mainly if it could be tuned to with a personal preference alá Nintendo 3DS (you can slide up and down on just how much 3D you wanted). I'd like to have control on the amount of Senseg's tech I was getting. Nintendo's Wiimote also has this control with their control's vibration as you're able to adjust to the amount of vibration/sound you get. Sometimes I want it and sometimes I don't.

We'll know soon enough.

I don't know if that is going to happened or not but they got to push with new technologies for iPad, iPhone to not be left behind. Good example is the latest Samsung Galaxy Beam with projector installed.
All what I am saying is what would be selling point of iPad 4 or iPhone 5? Better processor and better camera? I am afraid its not enough to make me upgrade my iPhone 4 or 4s or iPad 2.

While I agree that the Beam is stupid ugly, I can see the projection system being instituted inside of iOS devices. I thought it would be more likely to start on the iPhone (flagship) but I can see uses for it while I sit on the couch with my iPad.

LOL What if the new iTV isn't a TV at all? The new iOS devices can project high quality video onto the wall at varying sizes depending on your area. That would certainly eliminate the I don't want to buy a new TV every year argument! In fact, I'm fairly sure that would eliminate most of the TV industry! How about the marketing line, Every time you buy a new phone, we'll throw in a new TV"?

Props to Macrumors for giving credit where credit is due [see the link in the blog post] to the original poster.

I can feel the forums slowing down now with the traffic increasing!! Very exciting possibilities this will create. Now, we just need Apple to see the need for an incredibly accurate pen based input device with palm rejection, and for them to bundle an Apple branded one with the iPad 3. I suppose this WOULD make it very much a pro-sumer device though.

Not that I'd be complaining.

Some interesting facts about Senseg's technology:

- You can even feel the effect from a small distance, without touching the screen:

- When used frequently, it reduces battery life around 5%

Actually the whole GizmoFusion video is worth watching, it sums up a good bunch of information plus you can see the Senseg guy struggling not to mention Apple, haha. :p ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_11yYgt-h84&t=6m31s )
