Sorry to hear that, but mine got delivered 20mins ago and i live in Skokie.. I'm sure they will deliver today if its already in Chicago for the past 10hrs.. Mine arrived Chicago at 4something in the morning, and I got it around 12...

Lucky you. I'm in Riverwoods. Weird that yours came to Chicago at 4 and was delivered by 12, mine comes in at 2, but is not even moved from Chicago station.
I called Apple back and got my shipping changed to Next Day free of charge so instead of the 23rd I should get it tomorrow!

This bodes very well for me. Mine cleared the shipment release around the same time today. If it stays on schedule like yours did I should have it tomorrow!
Well, I think my earlier predictions were wrong!
I thought FedEx would hold them, but clearly they are not as people are getting deliveries. It did make me wonder about the expense of paying Fedex to babysit a bunch of iPads.
Mine seems to have finally made it out for delivery too. But it seems to have made it late - almost too late - yet it is still on vehicle.
I will leave a note out, but somehow I suspect I will get this tomorrow. I have never seen FedEx put it out for delivery so late unless they were rushing a package for a deadline. The strange thing is that the package still has an expected delivery of the 19th!!!! I think this is some strange delivery protocol by FedEx. It is not the normal FedEx way - nor is it typical (at least in my case) to assign "indirect signature" to something worth about $900 including tax.

It's amazing that they will even do that once a package is left and is "in transit". They are usually shipped in groups according to service type (Priority O/N), Second Day .... etc. I have, as a shipper, tried to get FedEx to change status and they usually tell me that it isn't possible.

I'm in Vernon Hills and in the same boat as you. No excuse at all for them to wait until Monday.
Went down to VZW store and got them added to my shared plan. If you bitch enough, they will waive the stupid $35/device fee adding them.

I called At&t and apple and either would give a fo sho thing on when they are gonna cary them... Apple wouldnt even change my ship date on my previous order... Now its just wait time.....

I have a feeling they won't announce anything. I'll just make a trip down to the apple store tomorrow in hopes they'll sell them. It's 1 pm PST. So they still have time to let is know but well just have to wait and see.
