Pardon going off topic (sort of), but can someone post a link as how I can "clone" all of my apps and data from my iPad2 to new iPad?

The last time I tried "restore from backup on a new iPad, I got some data .. But no new apps were even on my computer's iTunes.

Is there any way to just "clone" - literally - apps and all from one to another?

I use PC's though, but it shouldn't be different. I don't have a Mac. TIA.

Did anyone that received an iPad 4 today call Apple to get earlier shipping? Verizon or AT&T?

I changed it to 2-3 day shipping and it's looks like it's two days behind.

Mine arrived today, ordered a minute after the preorders went live, and I did not call and ask about shipping. Two coworkers also got theirs today, and I believe they are in the same boat as me.

Do you have an iCloud account?

Backup iPad2 with iCloud, then login to iCloud with new iPad and restore from iPad2 backup.

Mine was delivered at 12:10. 32gb verizon black. I cant believe how much faster it is than my 3 was and my 3 was not slow.

Yes, but when I back up to icloud I get only about 300Mb transferred. Do I set-up the new iPad and then restore from the iCloud backup - or do I set up the new iPad initially as a backup of the old iPad? Thanks.

Verizon LTE

I received my iPad Verizon LTE today. Can't get the cellular activated. When I attempt to activate, I get Cellular Data Account page. The it says Cannot activate your iPad. Call 800# or visit the Verizon Wireless store.

On hold now, running out of patience. Anyone else had this experience? I've disabled, enabled cellular. Rebooted iPad, etc. Tried in an area with 4G. And one with 3G. Same result.

Any ideas?

Just backup to iCloud. Turn on new iPad, click restore from iCloud backup. Boom. Done.

Easy ..... at least this worked when I had a iPad3 that did the same thing. I assume that Verizon already has your new iPad ICCID and MEID in their system. Go to "General" then scroll to bottom of right hand side "Reset", press "Reset" then select "Subscriber Services" and hit "Reprovision account" in the pop up box.

Before you do that, make sure 4G is enabled, etc. Mine (iPad3 LTE) activated right away. Verizon is not too swift at telling people to do this.

Right now I have my new iPad charging, and already changed ICCID and MEID with Verizon tech support. When I am ready I will do the same as I outlined to you above. Good luck.

Thanks, tried that too. The Verizon guy had me read off the sim card, I got a phone number (and see it on the iPad now).

Have 3G signal, Roaming enabled, LTE enabled, etc. Rebooted several times.

He thinks that it might just take some time. I'm in no rush, I got a new MacBook to get setup as well today.

I'll check in a bit. I find it odd that I get the number, he says my account looks OK, but I can't transmit data.

Thanks!

I think you have to turn WiFi off when reprovisioning account. Sorry! It is worth a try. When I had that problem, they said the same thing to me ... account looks good and wait. I waited 2 days and finally got someone to tell me to turn off WiFi and reprovision. Good luck.

Sorry. Forgot to mention that. Did that also. I'll give the reprovision another shot in a bit. Thanks for the help!

Still got the Preparing for Shipment Blues

Now officially past the "ships in 5 business days" mark.

I called and was offered the free cover/case.

Also noticed delivery by date changed from the 23rd to the 21st

This is the first time I've ordered an Apple product that didn't ship out sooner than was promised.

I had a similar issue that was related to having another iPad that had used the same email address (my Apple ID) on a 1st generation iPad 3G with AT&T cellular services. Even though the old iPad no longer had an active account there was some issue with activating a new account (even though it was even a different carrier (verizon versus At&t). For some reason they go thru Apple at some level of the activation and that duplication of emails messed up the new account. Anyway, finally got elevated to talk to someone in Verizon wireless Tech support who had knowledge of this issue and were able to reset things to finally get things working for me. If this relates at all to what your conditions are you amy want to try and use a different email address to setup your new iPad.

Just to be clear - I am talking about the email they request to setup the cellular account not the one you use for to setup your iPad (your Apple ID).

That's really odd. I just activated my new iPad and added an old iPad2 to my account with 3G. I needed to turn off WiFi and re provision, but both activated fine. It happened instantaneously. Well, good luck.

I'm also glad everyone got their packages as expected - or most everyone.

BTW - I pre-ordered on October 29 and got my "new" iPad today, so it seems that Apple has lots sitting in China.

So, I got mine today only to have to return it. It came with a dead pixel on the screen.
My luck that my very first iPad I ever order has a dead pixel. I guess it's a good thing I noticed now before I took it out and about, I guess. It's just really disappointing. :(
So now I have to wait to do an in-store swap. Apple claims they have stock, I hope they don't run out.
