you missed the most important part of that article - "In the most recent earnings call with investors, press and analysts, Cook said that no new products are to launch before the end of the year."

Well the iPad 5 is not a new product - its the continuation of an existing product - I assume it is meant that new products such as Apple TV, iWatch, etc will not be released this year ... I hope to see an updated MacPro this year.

Did he really say that?

Not exactly. He said "hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce in the fall and into 2014."

So, it does kind of sound like nothing till fall, but maybe he wasn't referring to updates but to totally new products.

If only there was a way to find out. Like if there was a way to move through time one day at a time till we knew the answer.

By the sounds of rumours Ipad mini 2 won't be ready at the same time as Ipad 5. No new signs of Apple TV and Iwatch and Iphone 5S may be later in the year.

It would make sense to roll out a new full size Ipad after the flat response from the Ipad 4. It really was an unexciting launch by Apple.

There's an app for that:

And they will. The million-dollar-question is when, and I would say it's a 25 % chance that we will see it by WWDC, 50 % by September, and 99.9 % by New Year.

And until then, therell be a new ipad 5 launch next month thread every month. In 2 - 3 weeks time, therell be a thread entitled "ipad 5 in June" or something similar.

I'm guessing he's referring to the fiscal year which ends on 9/28/13. Still sucks, oh well.

I got a 4 for xmas and returned it for gift cards to wait for the 5. Was really hoping the wait wouldn't be this long.

Then you'll get the 5 and take it back to wait for the 6. Kind of missing the point. They all run the same OS 6 you know, which is where the real changes come from. The hw bumps are not worth the wait.

It's not likely they will release new hardware until iOS 7 is ready for release.

iOS 7 will include major changes and they will need to give the software developers a couple months with the betas before they can release the final consumer version.

WWDC is where iOS 7 will be announced (mid-June). THEN the beta releases start. Add two months and we're looking at mid-August at the earliest for new hardware. I would put my money on September just to be safe.
