Any technology company that uses "good enough" or "plenty" to describe any aspect of their products is one doomed to fail.
I wonder how they would spin that to make people think they need it VS the already great Retina displays.
I'm getting pumped for this year's announcement, never mind next year. I really miss my iPad 2 I sold a couple months ago. Can't wait to get a new one!
I don't even think the human eye could perceive a difference. ...
I'd like to see Apple using the extra pixel density to finally add camera pixels in to the display. It makes sense on so many levels:
1. You can make eye contact while video-calling people
2. It could be used to support non-capacitive input devices like pens or paintbrushes
3. It gets rid of the front-facing camera hole, allowing for sleeker devices and less bezel
I don't even think the human eye could perceive a difference. Apple needs to focus on specs that really matter...
Not really sure how much more the iPad screen can be improved other than less reflective. It's ridiculous at how detailed that screen is.

I agree. We have the original iPad and the 3rd gen with the supposedly eye-blowing screen rez difference. Neither of us, nor our family that visit, can tell the difference between anything on the 2 iPads...other than if you look very very very closely at the icons, well, the iPad 3 icons look a tad nicer. And we've compared hi rez DSLR photos from our our camera and web sites.

And where would you put the lens?
1. A device comprising: a display area; an array of display elements located within the display area, each display element capable of displaying a pixel of information, either alone or in combination with other display elements; and an array of image elements located within the display area, each image element being capable of capturing visual information from a source in front of the display area; wherein each image element has a lens that does not interfere with any display elements.
Actually Apple has always used good enough hardware in their product since God knows when.
Mac has never had the best spec available in the market
iPhone and iPad has never had bleeding edge tech. 1136x640 is not something to boast off in 2013
Simplicity and ecosystem has always been a selling point for Apple
Some people may not perceive a difference, but when you have a pair of good eyes then put an iPhone 5 and a LG G2 side by side, you can tell the difference.
