Oh my god this poor kid with only 5k subscribers was probably told the video would pay for itself

Rest in pieces iPad Air 2

I would bet he purchased AppleCare+ since the cellular version is for his own personal use.

Chances are Apple reps don't know or care about this video. I've never spent more than 10 minutes getting a replacement.

So he'll pay $45, get a brand new iPad Air 2 since refurbs aren't yet avail, and then net whatever YouTube earnings he gets less $100 for AppleCare+ and $45 for the incident.

There are other guys applying a more reasonable amount of pressure and they couldn't bend it.

One was a more professional reviewer and another video is some guy at his house.

Under every day use it isn't going to bend.

If you need a tablet that can withstand that amount if force then get a Toughpad

I agree it's not going to bend under normal, deliberate use. But if, say, you're reading on the couch, put it down, it slides under a cushion and someone partially sits on it it's more likely to bend than the last few were. I just gave mine a gentle bend and I could easily create on screen artefacts, which I couldn't on my iPad 3. Don't get me wrong, I love this thing, particularly the (lack of) weight, but I do think that's come at th cost of toughness.

Edit: I didn't have an Air 1 so I don't know how it compares to that.

Its sad to see people destroying something for no good reason though. :(

so true. As long as device are sturdy enough for everyday use there is nothing wrong. The phone bending infants could have been, but that was debunked. This is just stupid.

Am I the only one who actually likes what this person did to their iPad? :D You get a visualization of the strength and breaking point of products on the market! I want there to be more videos like this online of destroying different products in different ways. Also, since each view generates a cent or a fraction of a cent, this person has made $440 to $880 thus far, basically enough to recoup the cost.

by watching and posting these videos, you are actually supporting them.

just something to think about.

I had a chuckle when the alternate angle on the video showed that he was filming this with an iPhone 6. :)

I would love to know how much carbon the design, production, marketing, delivery, procurement, and destroying of this iPad creates for the planet, then gather it up into a nice big pile of sooty black dust and make this fool eat it.

And we wonder why we're running out of oil and the oceans are rising.

Absolutely ****ing ridiculous. Unfortunately for Apple this crap about bending is not going away any time soon with jerks like this willing to break something just for clicks. Shameful really. Given enough motivation anything can be bent or broken.

Apple isn't gonna care. They got his money. If he sends it in and pays for a replacement, they'll get his money again. Their markup is enough to still come out ahead.

You know, as long as I got paid, I wouldn't care if they only purchased these things from me to destroy them. In fact, if I could take advantage of the scam, I'd probably skimp a little on the production of the devices if I knew all of them were being purchased for destruction, then I could pad my profits a bit.

I say destroy them if you want to, it's your money. Just ask that you recycle them properly if you're gonna burn through them quickly.

I think Gallagher could make a come back... He was great at breaking stuff and funny too... We could watch him destroy stuff, and laugh at his jokes, and learn which devices took more attempts to break at the same time.

OK, so who's gonna bend the iMac? Come on, we know you can do it. Post the video :D

The people who make iPads work their asses off for them, from Cupertino to Shenzen. They get sick, from the stress of designing and manufacturing them on schedule, so we can get them into our greedy little hands when we want them. And they get sick from the chemicals and processes used to make them. And UPS guys get bad backs from hauling millions of them around the planet

A lot of blood, sweat, tears, oil, electricity, gas, etc. goes into every iPad made.

And we destroy them for entertainment? While other people in the country they're made in would literally sell a kidney for one?

But that's ok because money?

This is the mentality that will ultimately seal our planet's fate.
