I recently bought an iPad Air 4 and I realised that the screen gets warm near where the Apple Pencil charges and also at the bottom part where the home bar is. It gets warm even when I’m just watching YouTube, taking down notes or doing pretty much anything. I’m using my iPad at low brightness. Is this normal?

You probably have an older iPad Air if it has a home button.

I have the same issue, but happens only when using pencil..

and have you got tampered glass sticked on the screen ?

My 2020 Air occasionally does this, but I turn off Bluetooth, YT and stop using the pencil if it heats up. Annoying as hell when drawing or taking notes. It’s warm now from surfing and playing music on a loop.

Unfortunately, heat issues have plagued all iPads I’ve tried since 2017 (The only one I haven’t tried was the 2020 12.9” iPad Pro). The heat problems may contribute to touch screen issues, so proceed with caution.

My suggestion is turn off controls, videos and disconnect the pencil when the iPad gets too hot.
