I Updated my iPad Air 16gb wifi model with iOS 8 yesterday and since then I am facing random reboots with blue screens. Is this a known issue. It has happened 4 times now while I was on safari, mail and a few apps as well.

Is there anyone else facing such issues.

I experienced my first crash reboot today on my new iPad air while trying to close out all of my apps with iOS 8. Never crashed before on iOS 7.1.2.

Same here

I've faced the problem of random reboots on my iPad 4 since iOS 7. I hope iOS 8 will solve this problem for me. But no, it only worsens. I'm thinking of restoring to fresh installation of iOS 8...:(

Every device generates a crash report.
Sync with iTunes, look in:

~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice

You can find various log files there.

This blue screen of death issue is affecting Indian batch of iPads.

Or maybe there is some software bug in Regional settings.

I returned to 7.1.2 and all is well. :)

So far my Air is stable, though I've had apps themselves crash. I'd expect that to clear up as developers release new versions of their apps. Still holding off upgrading any of my other devices.

There is nothing specific about Indian batch of iPads. It's happening all over, read the posts above.

Even my mom's retina iPad mini is doing this, and it is a "Canadian" iPad.

I updated my iPad Air on Saturday morning and so far have not had any such issues. Chrome still regularly crashes on me but it was doing that under iOS 7 too. Maybe I've just been lucky.

I have heard of it happening on some iPads but have not had this ever happen on my iPod Touch 5 or iPhone 5s.

This blue screen reboot bug is happening on many iPads. Wondering whether some app is causing it?

Tried 2nd time with fresh DFU restore of iOS 8 but while using Safari, the screen went blue for a second and the iPad Air rebooted.

Thankfully the downgrade window is still open so could go back to comforts of 7.1.2.

Has 8.0.1 or 8.0.2 improved the Blue Screen issues for all of you, I have yet to update my ipad but all those issues being reported about 8.0.1 I did not rush.

I think I was able to find a temporary solution..

I too had this issue in my iPad air after the iOS 8 update.
I dropped my iPad in an apple service centre, for 1-2 days. Even though they tried to replicate the bluescreen through many tests, it didn't happen at least once, so they gave it back to me saying, it's good. So I thought of trying to find the cause.
It's mosly happening when I use apps made by apple, like pages, numbers,Safari etc. So I thought I should test these apps. Finally, I was able to find a temporary solution.
:apple: Just turn off the iCloud sync for all the apps..
I had bluescreen restarts once in every 10-20 minutes in my iPad air when browsing in Safari. But after turning off the safari iCloud sync from,
settings->iCloud, my iPad is working fine..
It's been some hours since I'm browsing.
So I guess, this will work with other apps, like pages:
settings->pages->use iCloud (turn off)
Hope this works for some of you..
It's not a cool thing to turn off iCloud sync, but for the time being, until apple release an update to fix this, it's a way to save ourself from losing data and frustration.
:) Have a wonderful time.. :)

iOS 8.0.2 improves things

Hi,
Another user from India, glad to see that this is not Region specific issue.

Just updated to iOS 8.0.2 and so far no BSOD and restarts. Been almost 2+hrs on my retina iPad mini. To replicate the issue, I tried opening multiple tabs in Safari with heavy content like videos, animations etc, works like a charm. Also the issue was present during Cup race in Real Racing 3. Don't know if the Cup races are to blame or just a coincidence, but that too has not occurred since.

iOS 8.0.2 BSOD is still there..

There was no sign of BSOD for a couple of hours after updating iOS 8.0.2.. But it started again..
But I think, this time with less frequency.. So far only 2 BSOD, in 4 hours.. Previously, I was having it once in every 10-20 minutes..

So I guess my iPad Air will remain on 7.1.2

Man, this isn't cool as the amount of money I spent to get the 128 GB version.
