I have an iPad 3 and I wonder if there is a real life difference in use between it and the iPad air. I want to upgrade to Air but after I hear complaints about screen issues I decided not to.

Not sure what you mean about screen issues with the Air. It's an issue that doesn't effect many users at all. As for the 3 versus the Air? The Air is quite an upgrade in just about every regard.

It's a closer contest with the Air and the 4. We have one of each in the house and the Air is slightly quicker overall but it's not as much as you'd think. I still am glad I went with the air though, the lightness difference is rather noticeable.

id say they are almost the same besides the form factor, if weight an a bit faster iPad is important id get the air. otherwise you can save some money and get the 4.

All down to preference, if I was only getting an iPad now I'd get an iPad Air, but because I've already got a iPad 4 I see no point in getting a Air, it's benefits are too minimal, IMO, but between the two I'd take the Air just because it's the latest one if I was buying an iPad for the first time or upgrading from an iPad 2 or Mini.

That depends. For example, I had an iPad4 and it worked brilliantly even with the OS update. However, for what I use the iPad for, it was a bit too heavy (I probably added to the weight by having a Smart Cover and a transparent Speck back cover). So, I sold it and bought the Air. Much better all around. It is - again for my specific purposes - very convenient to use and carry around. In terms of performance, I can say this - I have not had a problem thus far. Since I don't use Safari (I use Mercury Browser), I have not experienced the reports on crashing. The few apps that I have work well. And, the Air seems snappy (in this connection, I must say that it seems snappier than the iPad 4 but it could also be my imagination at work).

Dude are you superman? Lol the iPad doesn't flex but the screen does feel a bit plasticky, I think it's using a thinner glass and the panel and digitizer are fused into the one piece. My biggest decider sticking with iPad 4 I didn't feel the update was big enough given how I use my iPad. If weight was an issue I'd go for the mini as the air still gets tiring in your hands, just not as quick as the 4. I usually put iPad in my lap when I use it.

You seem kind of down on the Air, its a great tablet, but different strokes for different folks. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to buy one. Enjoy your iPad 4.
