I find it great that Apple is updating iOS software without requiring a usb connection to a computer.

I hope/wish Apple can update all future iOS releases this way.

They're not updating any iOS software. All the updates are happening on the backend.

The App Store app simply displays web content served by the iTunes servers.

We're still no closer to OTA updates.

You've always been able to view your purchase history by going to your iTunes Account through iTunes, it shows paid for and free apps

Have you ever actually used this interface? It is the worst account interface ever conceived or created.

I have and I agree, it's not good at all. But until now, it's been better than nothing

Yes, but better than nothing and worth wasting your time are two completely different things. The interface is so bad that I would rather have purchased again with the risk that I might not have purchased it in the past than try to search through that list. It is the worst of a long list of bad features of the iTunes store. The iTunes store excels at one thing and one thing only, showing you the new, hot, or featured items. Ever since the redesign that started using WebKit the search feature has been severely lacking. The new iPad search goes a very small way toward fixing this.

Does anyone remember the old iTunes store where when you searched you got back a list of results similar to your regular library list and you could sort that list by ANY column? The new search feature is so awful that unless your results are at the top of the list it is painful.

Before the "install" feature that was just announced the only way to find out if you owned a game that is not installed on your device was to try and rate it. If you have not bought it before the app store would tell you that you need to own the app to rate it. Then you would know if you can download it for free or not.

The indicator that an app listed in the iTunes Store has been purchased is very welcome. Although that still won't address the issue where a developer pulls, say, version 1 of an app when version 2 is released, thereby removing the ability to reinstall an app you've purchased and lost.

also entries in the app store that have an update show an update button now. look at angry birds. first one on the left.

dunno if someone already posted this

I've found so many apps today that I didn't even know existed and really like with this new app store feature. Developers are about to get paid for sure now.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I notice Complete My Album has been added on the iPhone itunes store and, I assume, the iPad.

Unless I've just never noticed before, this is one thing off my list of iPad 'wants'.

Also, was Genius always on the iPhone iTunes store or is that new too?

Man it is so hard to find quality apps these days on the iPhone. Wading through the sea of garbage 1- and 2-star apps is a nightmare. I had an iPad for a few months (just sold it) and really miss the ability to filter for 4+ and 5-star apps. I can understand maybe the interface on the iPhone is a little cramped to include these filters but, for chrissake at least add this basic feature to the desktop iTunes app. Does anyone know a way to "impersonate" an iPad via user-agent spoofing etc to "browse" the AppStore from a laptop to enable filtering by rating??
