Apple makes their devices to use with any of the chargers they offer.
they're definitely compatible for each other, but that doesn't mean using more powerful chargers do not affect the battery life in the long term. I can't 100% confirm that that indeed affects the battery longevity negatively because the variables are too many, but based on my real-life experiment over 4 years with my iPhone 7 Plus & my girlfriend's iPhone 6 (and 4 years more before that with my iPhone 5), using more powerful chargers does indeed reduce the battery life faster in the long run compared to using the standard 5W. Again, this happens on phones that do not officially support fast-charging.

You can use any Chargers rated at 5/12/ Maximum 30 volts adopter. Its just the higher the voltage the faster it charge... iPhone battery isn't affected no matter how Cheap your charger is that only cost 4$ however the sad fact is that; the Most damaging thing that will Harm iPhone battery is:
1. Playing Heavy Games such as Asphalt 8, PUBG, Mobile Legends, Garageband, editing Movies, 24/7 With almost no rest.
2. The second damaging thing is Using not so heavy games such as Subway Surfers, Piano Tiles, or any games that is less than 2GB of storage.
3. Using social media apps all day with no rest such as Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and etc.
4. The Next Damaging thing is if you always charge your iPhone While Playing Games.
5. Well this is common, Battery will be affected if you often Update for example iOS 12.0.1 then update to iOS 12.0.2 try skipping some iOS version to have less stress on battery.
6. The last damaging thing is jail break or download an app such as PPSSPP from a certain Fake Apps with some virus on it. Well, to make matters worse for example some of the storage like 2GB wont be recover even after you uninstall it unless you restore or reformat your Device.

It should not damage the I-Phone battery if you're using an I-Pad charger. the I-Pad charger is simply a little faster.

I always charge with the brick that comes with the iPhone, but I am sure it's safe to use the iPad charger, just don't charge your iPad from the 5W brick.

Is this just an opinion piece or do you have any research for any points here. Would be interested to read more about your evidence that updating the device harms the battery.
How is installing an update on my phone stressing the battery, again in a measurable way.

Yep I was confused about the whole phone update vs stress on battery business as well.
