You have reached the limit of use on iPad; however we can not release how much use is allowed on iPad.

JK, sorry to hear of your misfortune- they will replace it, good luck finding stock though.

Apple stores always have stock for replacements...:)

Hi guys

Thanks for the advise guys,

What if I bring there, and the iPad is on like normal, can I explain to them and ask for a new one (exchange)?

Is it a problem if Cydia is in my iPad indicating that it has been jailbroken?

If it's within 1 year, I can still get then new one if the device stops working suddenly right?

You've got to restore your iPad to factory settings before taking it to the Apple Store. If they see Cydia on it, they'll flag your SN and all warranties will be voided.

This happened to my 64GbiPad last night.
Checked email etc before going to bed and put it to sleep on the bedside table (87% battery). Woke up this morning and it was completely dead. Tried plugging it in and it would not recognise the charger nor charge.
Read another post on Mac Rumors about a similar situation and, thanks to cirial, tried the two button reset, holding them down for 20-30 seconds with the iPad plugged in to the charger, and it rebooted just fine. Has been behaving ever since.
Hope this helps :-0)

Hold both buttons for 20seconds at least. If that doesn't work, Hold the home button and while holding it plug in the cable connected to a computer keep holding another 3-15 seconds until the computer recognize's it.

this WORKED!

Thanks - it worked; Shame we have to do such workarounds

Did you try to press and hold the power/sleep button and press the home button at the same time?

Hold it for 3-5 sec. The apple logo should appear.

Thank you for the reply and good suggestion. I've just loaded new OS yesterday and felt "it was all over" - much appreciated.

Thank you!

This just happened to my iPad last night and I tried everything.
Was ready to visit my Apple store when I found this suggestion!
THANK YOU!
Just concerned though that this may be the beginning of
troubles to come???

Thank you so much for this topic

I went to get a cup of coffee and when I returned to my ipad, it was black screen. I'd just got it in December, and thought money down the drain.
I'm so glad for this forum, I plugged it in, hit the home+on button to the 20 count, and saw the silver apple.
Thanks so much.

Great Advice

My iPad flatlined with 40% battery. Hollow-eyed despair ensued forthwith. Beating of breast. Rending of raiment. Stamping of foot. Shaking of fist at God. Taking of Steve Jobs' name in vain. After the application of sal volatile and a stiff brandy, I googled my problem, came here and pressed the two buttons while having the device plugged into the wall socket. After 20 seconds the white Apple logo shimmered into view, as prophesied by the Wise Ones. Well done the Forum! I am not worthy.

iPads have been really stable as a product. I saw very few that needed replacement at the stores... most needed like this poster... the two button hold while plugged in usually works most all of the time.... and is always cool to see the customer light up after you show them that all their stuff is there.

Maybe its a built in flaw... The closer we get to iPad 2 being released, the more mysterious iPad deaths we will hear about.;)

I'm willing to bet you got a A on most essays in school. Great post. :D

...I am worried cos it just a few day off the store :(. Im wondering should I try restoring it and jb it again?

Thanks, guys
If I were you, I'd try restoring it and not jailbreaking it. Use it for a while to see if it's still acting broken, then take it back for repair. You really don't want to take it in while it's still jailbroken. That's just asking for them to mark your warranty as voided.

...nevermind, just realized this was from way back

This is a reminder for me to backup onto the desktop more often - I carry too much stuff on my pad I'd die if I lost it.

iPad died

Mine too, it just happened in front of me, as I was reading a newspaper. It had 40% battery and I though it had just auto turned off.

Then I read about the hard reboot, hold both buttons down for more than 20 seconds...and yes, it came back to life!
