1) A5 to A7 looks like a big gap on paper, because it is. But do you even think about the current situation of Apple's iPad products? I.e. iPad going retina, iPad mini having been a test product, A7 chip being 64-bit (they may want to streamline), A7 chip is more efficient than tha A6X while having less heat and also the same if not better performance.
2) Trying to flake off the OP like he should be upset because he doesn't want an iPad 5 or something. You sound like an iPad 5 fan-girl and the product isn't even out yet.
Also the OP mentions nothing about him really wanting Touch ID so it isn't quite a "Sad day for you" situation.
For giggles: I also go to school in VA, and I don't go to VTech, but you're fulfilling a lot of the same stereotypes that my friends from high school also do, who attend that school
