Stop it. What kind of douche takes their iPad to Sears with them? You are one of those ******s holding your giant iPad to take pictures too, aren't you? Because, "why would I want to look at a 4" screen to see what my picture will look like?" Lol

I missed the memo where taking the iPad to Sears was douchy. Why the heck is the thing so portable if I cant take it with me? What's wrong with you?

Now now kids... there's no reason to go nuts. This thread could have ended earlier and more peacefully if someone had just told the OP to consider the 32GB LTE iPad - cause you know, they DO make it.

I don't have any pockets that are big enough for the mini to fit into to qualify as being portable, you must be rocking a fanny pack

I can't carry a Glock 19 in my pocket either, so a fanny pack or murse is very useful and versatile. One that holds an iPad is bigger than I'd like to carry....

Oh I get it. This is a shtick... Just a horribly unfunny one.

i don't quite understand why people keep comparing the iPad 32GB wifi to the iPad 16GB LTE. ok i understand they are close to price, but they are functionally different.

if you need to access the internet everywhere you carry your tablet and do not have frequent access to wifi, then go with the LTE model. pick the size that suits your needs. if the size you want is out of your budget, then go with the next size down or save up a little more money (or buy on credit at best buy with no interest financing for 18 months).

if you don't care about the above, then go to step 2 and pick the size you want.

it's impossible to give anyone a logical answer when comparing the 2 model configurations side by side as they each satisfy different needs. any attempt to compare the 2 is merely by price, which isn't even accurate when you factor in a data plan

People don't realize how silly they look taking pictures with an iPad.

Don't get the LTE - tether

32 or even 16. If 16 was going to be good enough if you got LTE, why isn't it good if you get wifi only? If you truly need 32 than get it, if you think 32 is a better investment, you're wrong. They cost $100 more but when you go to sell it, the 32s won't be selling for $100 more than the 16s.

I got the 16 and if/when the retina minis come out, I'll get a 32 of that because I plan on keeping it for a while and not just 6-12 months.

I agree with zboater, and am I the only one who sees no value in more storage? I stream literally everything and no longer have a music collection. Pandora, netflix, hulu, itunes take care of everything for me. I could probably bet by on 8gb.

They're probabably enjoying themselves to much to care what other people think.

You're a prime example then !!!!

He is a prime example of someone who doesn't care if you approve of what he uses to take a photo.

What's sadder is when these people defend the fact that they can't live without being connected 24/7.

If being connected means you're less condescending, I'll take connected. Only a couple of people in this thread have given reasons for and against. Everyone else is stating that their needs are the same for everyone.

if you don't have LTE in your area there isn't a lot point getting a LTE iPad mini because you cannot take the advantage of using it at all its just money thrown down the drain me personally LTE is a waste of money for me because we wont see it on our area for a least another 4 years or more so i just tether with a 3G connection with my iPhone its great because i have unlimited data plan so i don't have to worry about what its costing me to tether on the network

I take my iPad to Home Depot and take pictures of the lumber, but I digress.

If I were to tether my wifi iPad mini to my LTE enabled iPhone 5, would the data speeds coming through the wifi hotspot be the same as the LTE data speed through the iPhone 5?

Hopelessly bonded in applesauce.

Yes, they will be very close. For instance, if I'm getting 17 Mpbs on my iPhone, I usually get about 15 on my tethered iPad.

I want to buy ipad mini. I can't chose between 32 wifi and 16 wifi + Lte.

What is worth for my money.

Sorry for my english. :)

Do you have a smart phone? How close are you to wifi access most of the day? Do you need wifi for everything you will use the iPad for? If you have a smart phone, have you thought about tethering for internet access so that you don't pay cellular data x2.

For me, I just need a wifi. Work has wifi. Home has wifi. Coffee shop has wifi. Many grocery stores and malls now have wifi. Friend's homes have wifi.

Where there is not wifi, I have my iPhone.
