iPad 4 (first retina [2048x1536])(A6X): struggles

Actually, my iPad 3 that I purchased when it came out was the first retina. Very nice screen, but at times it struggled with the graphics. That has been improved through the years, but I'm seeing some issues with the home button. So I'm tempted to go with the easier to carry Mini 4.

AVOID the Mini 4

Why A8 CPU struggles to push 1920x1080 on the iphone 6 Plus thats why the 6 Plus is slower than the 6,

now you are asking it, to push 2048x1536 when it already has trouble with 1080p just saying

and if its 2GB RAM fine, Apple will support it with more features and iOS 10 but if its only 1GB RAM stay away.

Next years iPad Mini 5 will have 3D FOrce Touch and Apple Pencil Support

Why?

Because, my Note 5 has a 5.7 Inch OLED Display and a Stylus, it can do everything literally the iPad Pro does, drawing writting you name it. It has Haptic Feedback, and the Display can detect different levels of pressure.

So every Samsung Tablet next Year will have a Stylus and if the IPads don't support teh Apple pencil they simply won't sell.

Also the A9 CPU and A9X is such huge upgrade over the A8 Dual Core A9 is Tri Core

Removed the Bold formatting as its annoying to members.

Dude the A7 has no trouble running a Mini 3 so why wouldn't an A8 that has 30% more CPU and 60% more GPU not be able to run the Mini 4 well?

You're right...I took the information off wiki's "iPad retina" which it sites as the iPad 4. Their main page says it's the iPad 3. Just goes to show you can't trust wiki on everything. Should affect the argument that the mini 4 should be just fine and I will have it on the 16th.

It's actually a bigger iPhone 6 plus! It has a regular A8 whereas the Air 2 has an A8X. It does have a 2 gigs of RAM, so it's a bigger 6 Plus with 2 gigs of RAM

The mini 4 definitely has a regular A8 but with 2GB of RAM which will SUCK ON IOS 9!! Look at how the slide over thing is black and not translucent, that is a graphical effect that was disabled because the A7 (A8, very similar to A7) struggled with it.

Slideover is black background on the iPad Air 2 too........

Thanks for the insight. If you had to estimate, could you say about how many hours you get with light usage like web surfing and maybe a little bit of media?
I got 5 hours of web browsing with my Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 on battery saver mode with the screen at 30%. The issue was for me,...why have the nice screen if you always have to have it turned down? Then there is the horrible lag issue with the Tab S. Its a glitchy tablet running Lollipop. The Mini 4 will destroy it since the A7 was actually faster than the Tab S in real world speed test.
My Ipad 3 runs circles around my Tab S in web browsing. Significantly smoother and the scrolling lag of the Tab S drove me and my wife crazy. It stutter stops even under the easiest web page scrolling. Then there is the fact you cant load all your apps on the SD card. Only a select few so that took some of the android storage advantage away. I really wanted to love the Tab S and Tab S2 but its still not in the Ipad league.

I'd put up with some vibration in return for decent volume.
I can understand, I'm partly deaf in one ear, having decent volume is always good. The problem for me was that it was causing my finger tips to go numb if I held it for like a 3-4ish minute youtube video (only at about 50-75% volume). I just couldn't stand it and returned it. Still using my iPad 3, which barely works at this point. I tried several cases for it too, none of them seemed to help the vibrations much (some seemed to make it worse lol), several of the cases helped with the screen distortion at least.

WOW, the difference between the iPad Mini 2's and iPad Mini 4's display shown in this video is really huge... :) (Especially from 5:45)

There's no doubt now, that the new iPad Mini has dramatically improved screen compared to previous generations... ;)
