I'm not stating that the iPad Mini doesn't have a market, but with the introduction of the 6 Plus has in effect cause a decline for the iPad Mini. And what I'm indicating doesn't imply to you, but the 6 Plus definitely is a capable tablet replacement.

Think what a tablet is known for... Browsing the web, productivity, consuming content whether it be reading or watching content. The 6 Plus more than able to provide a replacement for anyone willing to replace their tablet.

No. Look at the comparison picture, the 6 plus is tiny compared to the ipad mini and in no way a tablet replacement unless someone did not want a tablet in the first place.

A tablet is known for far more things than what you name. Ipad apps are far more robust that iphone ones. Office for example, it's perfectly fine on an ipad and ridiculous on a phone even the plus. There are many things you can do on an ipad mini that's not worth bothering with on a plus. Reading is just one of those things, far better on the ipad mini. There is nothing, basically, that is remotely as capable on the plus as on the mini except for phone calls, messages, email.

I really do not know how you can look at this picture and with a straight face say something like that, the size is not even close. Is the macbook air putting the 15" macbook pro out of business? Of course not and they are closer in size than the plus and the mini. Look again, not even in the same category.

People claimed the mini would not sell and after it came out sold more than the full size. I think the reason apple did not update the processor was because it was selling better, they want to keep it at less than the full size. I don't believe in any way, shape or form it will be going away as you claim. Guess we will wait until november.

You keep making claims with no links. Proof the 6 plus is causing a decline? The full size ipad is declining, do think that is because of the 6? No way. You still have not posted proof of how the full size ipad is more capable than the mini. Faster processor? yes, but I have no problems. 2 gb memory? Again no problems and they run the same apps. It's actually no more capable unless you are having processor or memory problems.

Nothing to argue about, feel free to let me know when the 6 plus puts the mini out of business.

I at least wonder if Apple chose to minimize the mini 3 features because they knew the 6 plus was coming

If the mini 4 has at the very least the Air 2 internals, I'll slide my mini 2 to my mother and upgrade. I love this thing dearly but would love split view multitasking and more headroom with 2GB RAM. I don't think Apple is ready to kill off the mini form factor just yet. It's only been three product cycles (2.5 more like it with that mini 3 "upgrade") and it's been a successful product line. Doesn't make sense to kill it off yet just because of a larger phone and tablet offering. Plenty of customers still enjoy the mini form factor (my family alone has 5 of them).

Most people who had a 6 Plus decides to get rid of their iPad Mini or upgrade to the larger iPad. Bigger phones are known to be called Phablets... Apple even provided stock apps specifically for the 6 Plus.

And with the rumored iPad Pro coming at 12"... Apple will be pushing people toward larger screens for the iPad. I wouldn't be surprise that they don't update neither Air 2 or Mini 3, and just do some major features for the iPad Pro. The fact that they are bringing SplitView will most definitely get people in stores for the Air 2.

Why would anyone want a Mini when the Air 2 is capable of doing much more?
Size. I have both. I use the rMini because of portability.

Ridiculous speculation, do you have proof? Of course not, if so post proof to back it up. Most people are NOT getting rid of their tablets because of the 6 plus. Again, the 6 plus is much closer in size to the iphone 5 than to the mini, it's not close to being tablet size no matter if it's called a phablet, that's just name. The iphone 6 plus is tiny in comparison to the mini and costs a whole lot more. Did you even see the comparison pic I posted, the 6 plus in no way takes the place of a tablet.

Why would anyone want a macbook air when the macbook pro is capable of doing much more? Why would anyone want a mac mini when an imac is capable of doing so much more? Why would anyone want an imac ehen the mac pro is capable of so much more? Explain to me what the air 2 is capable, the so much more, than the mini. Back that up.

Very ridiculous comment, hold both the ipad mini and the ipad air and see why. Portability. I in no way want an ipad air 2 when the mini is perfect in size for me. You do know at least at one point the ipad mini was outselling the full size ipad, right? I don't know if the same is true after apple did not upgrade the processor in the mini, but before that it certainly was.

Here is a thread.

keep in mind that everyone is not alike and like different form factors. The 6 plus in no way replaces an ipad mini, it's just too small. Not everyone wants a huge ipad, to me the mini is the perfect size, if not for it I would have an android.

Only reason I don't use my iPad mini as much now is because its so slow compared to the 6 plus. If I had got any of the retina models I would have used it just as much I think.
