Really an almost 8" ipad.. do we really need that when the normal one is 10" I guess its better then 7" as that's only 3" from a normal smart phone.

----------

I have an iPad. I took it on vacation out to SDG and Comic Con.

It was great for having at the hotel, airport and at my friends house.

It was not so great for sight seeing, taking around and actually at Comic Con. Just too bulky for on the go and you need a backpack or case for it. The mini would fit in your cargo pants pocket or a womans purse, etc.

The whole time, I actually was like 'man...I hope they come out with that mini-ipad' because it would be great for things like I just did.

There is a market for it. Really.

You know your phone fits in your pants and purse too :) Does the same stuff too. iPad isn't meant as a travel device. the 8" isn't either.

There's definitely a market despite what some future iPad Mini owners here are saying.

Heard something about the "iPad mini" not being retina. I won't spend my money on a non-retina device.

I wouldn't spend a few hundred dollars on any iOS device that didn't have a retina display at this point. I think Apple is smart enough to know not having a retina display would make it a lot less attractive to those who own a retina iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Also keeping storage capacity limited to 16GB would have the same effect.

Ehh, when you ask for a MacBook Pro you have to choose a screen size...and now Retina or non-Retina. If you ask for an iPod you have at least three choices of device, let alone colors. This isn't a stretch at all.

If you run an iPhone app on an iPad at 2x resolution you will see the exact alleged screen size.

Ahh fair play.
