iPad mini iPad mini Pre-order thread (Canada and U.S.)

I'm in. Won't get to use it until Christmas day as it's a gift from my parents but I suppose the new iPhone 5 I'm getting in 2 weeks will have to hold me over. :D

Apple states on the site that orders ship Nov 2 - so my question is that with the basic free shipping - what are the chances of the item arriving by Nov 9?

Reason I ask is that I will be on vacation after nov 9...

If the past has been any indication, it'll be on your doorstep on Nov 2.

i'm hoping that's the case... although they did keep saying ships/in stores on nov 2.... however i'm planning to order the cellular version (and hope it ships to arrive on my door on store release day!)

I just ended a chat session with Apple (after holding on and finally speaking to a woman in sales, who knew nothing). Here is the relevant text from the chat...

While the specific time of the iPad mini and iPad 4th generation *pre-order hasn't been released yet, I definitely recommend checking our Online Store anytime early tomorrow Friday, October 26.
I know I will be on at 12am Pacific just in case though!
And that is 3am your time.

will I be able to preorder a cellular model?

It will be for the WiFi only models during the sale tomorrow.

I really hope it's at midnight and I don't stay up for no reason. They always set a time don't they?! Ill be too scared to go to bed if its not midnight!

That's interesting. I just called them and the representative I spoke with also said it was WiFi only, and that it begins at midnight.
 
Okay so completely confused..it is 10:34 cst here...how long do Ihave to wait? Half hour..hour and a half...3 hours? Thanks
 
I had an ipad (found out it was stolen and had to return...horrible story).for the short time Ihad it I bought the camera accessory so I could put pictures on it from my sd card...so since this has a different connection am I going to be able to still use it? If so what do I need to buy to make it work and is that available to buy now? And if not is there a way for me to put pictures on the mini because that is the main reason I want this?
 
I wonder if it's safe to say that it won't be at midnight if the store isn't shut down a couple hours before. Doesn't the store always go down for maintenance a couple hours before a preorder?
 
So does it ship Nov 2, or arrive Nov 2? I am going to visit my mom for her birthday, and this is her gift. If I can't have it arrive at her place on the 2nd, then I'll go wait in line at the Apple store on the 2nd.

True but it's far from it, maybe in 10 minutes or an hour?

You wont be able to use your current SD to 30-pin adapter. Youll have to buy a lightning to SD card reader.

If you pre-order tonight, they have said it will get to your home on Nov 2
 
Good thought about the store going down. But there is still several hours. over 3 and it usually only goes down for an hour maybe 2 so I would say we will know in another hour or so. Im starting to think no on the presales at midnight which is total ********!!
 
Did a little more reading..could some1 tell me the difference between the lightning to 30 adaptor and the lightning to 30 adaptor (0.2) ? Thanks
