Normally the share sheet on my iPhone and iPad both show iMessage contacts on the top line. My iPad no longer does that although the iPhone still does. How do I get iMessage contacts back on the iPad share sheet?

Theoretically, going to Settings > Siri & Search > enable Suggestions When Sharing as long as you're using iCloud Photos is supposed to enable it, but I haven't been able to get it to work in iOS/iPadOS 14. I also have the Photos > Siri & Search setting Learn From This App enabled, but so far nothing.

Yeah, this has been happening to some people and nobody seems to have a solution. Very frustrating.

Well, I messed around with this a bunch today and I've got it working now, but it seemed to take a few hours for Siri to learn enough about how I use the app for the contacts to appear. I enabled all the settings related to this in Photos and Siri & Search, and then sent 10 or so photos to two contacts. Several hours later those contacts now show in the Photos share sheet.

What would cause Siri to suddenly forget all about iMessage? On the sharing sheet on my iPad I've always seen a bunch of icons for my frequent iMessage contacts. This suddenly went away. I still see icons for Messenger and Skype contacts and for Air Drop; it's only iMessage that disappeared.

And, it's not just for Photos, it's for anything that can be shared: A location in Maps, an article in News, a forecast from Dark Sky.

JUST figured this out and wrote it up - the short answer is go to the Siri & Search section of your settings, then scroll allll the way down to the list of apps, find Messages, open that section and switch ‘Show Siri Suggestions in App’ and ‘Learn from this App’, both to *on*.

The long answer is here: https://www.theinternetpatrol.com/i...-contacts-in-quick-share-sheet-heres-the-fix/
Does “Show Siri Suggestions in App” need to be on? I would assume “Learn from this App” would be the key setting here. Any insight?

I currently have *only* 'learn from this app' on, and it is working. However, there are so many combinations of OSs and hardware that I'd say if it only works with 'show Siri suggestions in app' on your device, I'm not surprised.

Back when I was having this issue, “Learn from this app” was turned *on* and I still didn’t see contact photos on the share sheet.

My issue only lasted a couple of weeks - no clue what triggered it and no clue why they returned.

“Suggestions when Sharing” in the “Siri & Search” menu also needs to be enabled. Aside from that, I’m not sure how else that could have been affected.
