iPad now with Cydia!!!

Sweet. Hopefully he'll have an iPhone 3.2 jailbreak ready when it's released.
 
K. Did he actually say nothing will be released until then, or is that just speculation? Because it conflicts with the other spec I've read.
 
Here's to hoping he comes out with an untethered OS 4.0 universal jailbreak that will work with all devices :)

Dude where do you get your information? This JB is based on 3.2, iphone are running 3.1.3. We cant know if this JB works for 4.0. The current JB which this thread shows, is just for the ipad (for the time being).

It's really up to Geohot to decide, or any other dev that has the capability to release the installers
 
The guys in the iPhone hacks forum here seem fairly knowledgable, that is where I picked up the speculation that it'll be after 3G iPad. I suspect the actual situation is that none of the hackers are announcing their plans, and everything is speculation.

no. its definitely jailbroken. its just a matter of when he releases it. a lot of people are counting on him, whether its for profit, or not for profit.
 
I know it's jailbroken (there have only been about four hundred threads about it). I was referring to speculation about the release timeframe.
 
Yeah, I don't see this being released until 4.0 gets released so the people working on this jailbreak don't tip their hand to apple and give apple a chance to patch it before they release 4.0..

Now whether or not they wait until the iPhone 4.0 release or the iPad 4.0 release is the real question!!!
 
That's cool and all, but I probably won't be jailbreaking my iPad 3G. With OS 4 coming I really can't think of a compelling reason to.

I get my information from reading. If you'd look more into it, the reason he's waiting until summer is because the exploit he's using will still be present in 4.0, which the iPhone is first to get. Hence, why he's not releasing it in June.

The fact that he's using an iPad is irrelevant, as it'll work on any device with 4.0 or early. He's just using it cause its the hot thing right now. All clear now??

I never did it with any of my iPhones but if it meant being able to run flsh without affecting the iPads performance, I would consider it. The kids in my household are big fans of Facebook associated games, which at the moment only run with flash. Only reason for me to consider a jailbreak though
