I buy a device because of how it can benefit me, not because of how other people perceive me.
Basically when I do use the iPad in public I do not give a toss what anyone else thinks about it.
When I went Mac in the first place fashion and image were the furthest things from my mind.

by now everyone and his grandma have an iPad or am MBA. There is no way to pose with them anymore. They are simply not special anymore.

Maybe the next iDevice can be used to pose for up to two 2 weeks after release...

And there is nothing wrong withsitting in a coffee shop and browse the web with whatever device you have. It does not make you a pretend bookwriter either....

Actually, at a party on Saturday, at least 2 girls were oogling at the iPad.

And no, they don't think iPad owners are posers.

Dear god, am rolling my eyes so hard right now.. lol, who the heck cares if a person is walking around with an iPad or bluetooth headset?

Sheesh, if a guy decides to fasten his iPad to his nostril and allows it to swing like a pendulum, I am not going to lose a night's sleep over it.

Now let's put things into perspective : which seems more silly? A person sitting in a cafe minding his own business while completing an important project on his iPad, or a person who comes online to whine about how people with bluetooth headsets and iPads in public hurt their souls?

And to the OP, I know exactly how you feel, I have seen a few posts like this on here, I even saw one 2 days ago, and the comment was so irrelevant to the main topic.

Anyhow, I own neither bluetooth headset or iPad (at the moment) but believe me, there are more things in life to worry about than waste time with folly. ;)

Fact is, the iPad is not a business tool, it is a consumer entertainment device. Hence why people who do try to use it for business look like posers.

So when you see someone with a big super chunky gold chain round their neck, you are jealous of them?

no, you clearly are though.
What other people do is their business, its not always about you.
