In defence of the OP, he has been registered for a year, so if he was planning to steal an iPad 1 year ago, then ask on here about the passcode a year later, I think it's very unlikly. Things like this do happen, give the guy a break and help him.

Restore, or go in to the Apple store, I'm sure a member of staff will be happy enough to help you. Pending if you can show proof you're the legit owner of the iPad.

+1, well said

Well, you know, it is possible for a MR member to do something dishonest. Shocking, I know...

I'd like to believe him, but so far that story is a stretch.

Thanks for the tip Detective miamialley. 🙄

All he did was ask a question, all he wanted was a simple answer. He's got his answer. I very much doubt he stole an iPad. But we're all entitled to our own opinions and thoughts.

that makes it sound like the only reason to join macrumors is for iPad discussions. this is just one sub-forum of many. what seems much more likely is that he joined right around when the iPhone 4 launched, which is when many members (including myself) joined.

no farfetched year-long plan to steal an iPad conspiracy 🙄

My 4 year old changed the passcode on my iPhone a few weeks ago. So I know it's possible, and it sucks. I had to restore, and this time I won't be giving him the passcode.

All I did was answer, not start war.

And you don't have to post on my profile. I read your post here, that's enough.
