TPU like this generally looks and feels gross. Expect scratches, air bubbles, floppiness.

As I said, I’ll leave it to others to judge how it looks.

My main criticism is that I would prefer the back of the case to have a textured finish, like on the inside, so that it felt better in the hand. I have a TPU case for my phone which has that type of finish and it feels very good.

I’m not sure what you mean about scratches? The material itself is very durable and not prone to scratching. It’s soft so it wouldn’t scratch your device. There’s always the possibility of getting foreign objects between the case and the device, but that applies to any case.

I haven’t encountered any air bubbles.

I suppose it’s the nature of having a flexible material like TPU that if you remove one side, to accommodate a Smart Cover or Keyboard, the back is going to be a bit floppy.

Does the case pull off the iPad? Since its TPU?

The case is easy to remove, but I always look for one which has good coverage at the top and bottom so that it stays attached when I want it to.

I tend to avoid the clear cases as I’ve found that they can discolour after a while.

I have used TPU back covers for my iPad-3 and iPad-4. I would not say I was completely unhappy with the quality, but remains to be seen when compared to Khomo how does it stand ?

I agree. I had a Tech 21 TPU case which I used on my iPad 2, 3 and 4, it was expensive and heavy, but it was very good quality and felt good to hold.

I have had TPU cases before and normally don't like the "rubbery" feel of those type of cases. As I mentioned before, this case has a soft touch plastic feel. This is really not rocket science, and if you prefer TPU type cases, then go with something like the Poetic. Otherwise, the polycarbonate Khomo should be a good choice if you want a light-weight, good looking case that works well with SC and ASK.

My only worry with polycarbonate and plastic cases I hope the back of the iPad is not scratched or abrased.

I have had every iPad since Gen 1. I have used Polycarbonate cases before without issue. With anything, as long as you don't treat the iPad like an animal, you shouldn't worry about scratches.

In your pictures, am I seeing the Khomo case together with a Smart Keyboard?
Also the edges don't seem to wrap over the edge of the device, not in the way my cheap back case for my iPad mini does.

I received the Khomo back case that's ASk and ASC compatible. My pictures are with the Black Apple leather cover. Overall great so far. A little more slippery than I would prefer and the edge lines up with the cover in a way that I don't always get the cover open on my first try. Minor annoyances. I've had a few of the clear ones that have been trash.

I got my i-Blason case from amazon today...and like so many other cases, it does not have enough of a cut out for a smart Cover to work. So frustrating. Have we found any back covers that are decent and do have the proper cut out for a smart cover? Please point me in the right direction.

Khomo. Check out all pics previously posted.

I'm now convinced I need a case with a holder for Pencil. Any downsides to this, other than some extra bulk?

I'm looking at:

Does anyone have any experience with iPad Pro 10.5 Inch Case, ESR Premium Leather?

I got this one in brown. It has a luxurious feel for the price. Nice looking, too. Cutouts are good and wake/sleep works. It's a bit heavier than I expected, but that's due to the ample padding.

However, there are a few flaws to it, which may be fixed by now. The magnets aren't strong enough to keep the front cover from flopping open. The pencil loop is stitched inside the case, instead of outside like other cases. When you have a pencil in the loop, the case won't fully close or put the iPad to sleep. You can tug on the pencil loop and quickly close the case, but over time that isn't a real solution, as I suspect it would stretch the loop so you'd risk losing the pencil.

I got a Stylus Sling pencil strap to solve both these problems. The pencil fits into the strap, which I put around the entire case, not just the front. It keeps the case closed and the pencil handy. However, the solution cost more than the case!

Eh... At least we start with one that I would not want. :D

I am not ordering my 10.5" until I decide on a decent case. I want a case with a pencil holder.

edit:
I ordered the 10.5" and a pencil and it will be here in a few days. Still not have decided on a decent temp case.
Ordered this TPU back case that's compatible with the SmartKeyboard and also has an attached section where you can store your Apple Pencil as well! Ive used Poetic before and their products are pretty good. Definitely look into getting one.

Anyone know of any non folio cases with a good kickstand? I had a UAG case with a nice metal kickstand for my gen 1 12.9 iPad Pro but they don’t seem to be making that one for the new pros

I have my iPad Pro 10.5 inch for almost a week now. I bought a case on Amazon.com (see link below) and modified it to work with the Apple Smart Cover. With normal use, Facebook, iMessage, Safari... etc this iPad is getting hotter than my previous iPad Promwith the case on. Battery usage is about the same.

My theory remains that the reason that Apple did not include a silicone case for this is because this unit has the potential of overheating with such a case. With the long term damage excess heat can cause, I am going case-less.

Case linked here:

Take it back? My 10.5 is pretty darn cool... and I run iOS 11 public beta with some decently hard-hitting apps.

Are you running it with a case? Mine was running hot with the case on, runs cool without it.
I run it with a KhoMo since I bought it. Apps like ProCreate, Notability, Lumino City, Sonic/Mario, Outlook, Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, etc.

Can I ask a bit of advice? When I picked up my 10.5 Pro from Apple I also bought the Smart Keyboard. I've only just noticed that it is the US layout and not the UK one (I'm in the UK). I spoke to Apple and they said that they'd exchange it if I just popped back to the store. The store is quite a way for me to go and at the moment there is a lot of hold ups due to roadworks so my question is;

Would you just order another off the Apple website and then just return the US keyboard for a refund or;

As the US Keyboard is not that big a deal, just keep hold of it?

I’m in the UK and I didn’t think the US keyboard was a big deal when I had my 9.7 pro. That was until they released the UK one, then it bugged me so much I got the UK version. I’d either exchange, or buy/return, whatever is easier, but I’d want the UK one

If I bought the UK one then requested to return it but returned the US one, do you think they'd notice?
