iPad Pro 12.9 256GB Silent Price Increase?

Did Apple just increase the price of the 256GB and 512GB versions by 50$? Apple.com now shows $949 and $1149, respectively.

Wow you are right, I got my iPad Pro 10.5 512gb Cellular for £1019 at launch. The website now has it as £1099!
 
Just got a iPad Pro 10.5 256gb last week via education offer and noticed it has gone up £60 before discount.
 
I'm not suprised since the 12.9 iPad Pro's are not available a lot.

I could buy any 10.5 iPad in any colour with any storage I wanted only a few weeks after launch. The 12.9 iPad Pro however .....
 
I guess they want to recoup some of that lost profit from the Back To School promos...

Maybe they know something we don't.... some killer as-yet-unannounced feature that will make the 12.9 Pros even more desirable. 🙂 Most people won't even realize that there was a price increase since the latest gen was released.

The 10.5 256mb and 512mb also got $50 price increases! Lucky I got mine at Best Buy a few weeks ago on sale....crazy!
 
DRAM and NAND prices have been rising for the past 6 months and are expected to continue rising.

There's a reason why Apple is bidding on Toshiba's NAND unit.

But given the margin on Apple products, the company could easily absorb the increase without a $50 raise.

Apple warned in their last earnings report flash storage costs were causing them problems. They've held prices as long as possible, but unfortunately they can't take the hit forever.
 
Must be simple supply and demand. I don’t think they’d raise the price unless it made a lot of sense.

Yeah it’s unacceptable to pass that cost along to the customer, on a 3 month old product, never mind that I too believe they can easily eat it.

If they thought NAND would rise, they should’ve factored that in when they set the price on the product at launch.

...As I said in the bigger thread that has pages of replies (MR news thread), even as someone who has 12.9gen2 64gb and got $100 off through a Best Buy sale price adjustment (i.e. not only unaffected but got a great deal in the end), I **still** find this completely disgusting practice.

Something doesn’t have to personally impact me, to still wanna speak out about it. I don’t always have selfish views like that

MacMall hasn't increased the price and they actually it it priced at $5-$80 cheaper than the original price depending on which storage option you choose.
