Chances are 50-50 right now.

Not every element gets transported into another product line right away, otherwise iPhones would have 4GB RAM and USB-C ports already.

Ofcourse not. It is Apple we are talking about.

They still even ship phones with only 4gb of RAM in 2020.

For $999+ Pro, I think so, yes. For $749 or less regular iPhones, likely not.

The 2015 iPad Pro 12.9 and 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 were the first devices to get 32GB base model and when the iPhone 7 was released, that had 32GB base as well.

Ever product today has been bumped in storage. EVERY PRODUCT.

We're in 2020. Apple is feeling the pressure of competition. Nowadays 200$ phones come with 128GB.

YES.

EVERY iPhone will come in 128GB this year.

iPhone all ready has 4GB of ram

Thanks for pointing this out, however the iPad had that configuration available since when, 2015? Took the phone a while to get there - but things can always change.

Maybe, though the iPhones have 3 storage tiers and the iPads 4, so do they drop 256 and make it 128/512/1TB, or go with 128/256/512?

Hey 128GB starting and 6GB of ram on new iPads I believe lol

So the new iPads have 6GB RAM? That would be brilliant in the upcoming iPhones, here’s hoping!

It would make sense for Apple to do the following:

- 128GB
- 512GB
- 1TB

For upcoming iPhones, as the chip prices have come down. But again, it’s Apple so I am not putting my hopes up

I’m thinking of getting new iPad 128GB but it has to match so the new phone better have 128GB lol

I think chances are greater than 50%. The Mac Mini now starts at 256 gb. This may be a sign of things to come.

Can guarantee the iPhone 9/ SE2 won’t have base storage of 128GB when that’s released.

Yup. There’s no way Apple is bringing this entry level ‘iPhone 9’ starting at 128 GB, it’s more like 64 GB. If they want this phone to be ‘affordable’ as possible, 128 GB would be the opposite of that, especially given what they charge for such a price hike with storage increases.

This argument sounds like the Android crowd crying about the XR not being 1080P. People who only look at a number rather than a use case aren't going to buy an iPhone. While Samsung is marketing cameras with inflated megapixel and zoom numbers Apple is marketing cameras that take good pictures. It's highly possible that the base model could go to 128 but the cries from board posters aren't going to make this change. Apple can see how much storage iPhones are using and if it looks like many people who own the 64 GB model are getting close to the limit then they will up it. It's about it working rather than being able to put a number on the box.

Swear there was an article saying new iPhone pros would start at 128GB but can’t seem to find one.

If they did it on the iPad Pro’s be odd not doing it on the new iPhones

So MacBook doubles storage from 128 to 256
iPad Pro doubles storage from 64 to 128GB
Apple TV double storage on Apple TV 6

We can but hope it’s a trend

If the iPhone SE 2020 starts at 64GB ( Which is pretty much all but confirmed )
You can bet the Pros ( And likely iPhone 12 /Mainstream ) will start at 128GB.
