iPad Pro 9.7" Pre-Order and likelihood of selling out.

I've decided to finally upgrade my 1st gen iPad mini to the iPad Pro 9.7". As I've personally never pre-ordered an apple product other than my Watch, what time do pre-orders typically go live in the UK? Alternatively, do you guys think i'll be fine to wake up in the morning and still manage to place an order for shipping on the 31st? I'm unaware of how quickly these things get sold out.

How fast they sell out for the 31st will all depend on how much stock they have on hand ready to ship out.

Pre-Orders usually go live a little past midnight Pacific time. So that's like 7am or so in the UK

I'm upgrading from my 3rd generation iPad to the 9.7" Pro. I had no problems finding the older iPad in the store on launch day 4 years ago. Pre-ordering and receiving my iPhone 6+ was a real mess though. iPads just don't seem to be as high in demand as phones and I don't expect this one will be hard to find in the near future.

With the tablet market being what it is and the price of the iPad I don't think that you will have a problem finding one or pre-ordering for an arrival on the 31st. At most maybe the Rose Gold might see the most action, but I doubt it's anything to worry about.

I remember for the iPad Air 2 pre-orders didn't start till 9AM pacific time for me it was noon here on the east coast.

Pacific time is -3 hours for me and I believe much of the UK is - 5 from us. That would make it most likely 8 AM your time?

I'd be stunned if you can't walk into an Apple store on the official launch day and pick one up to be honest. Then no need waiting around for UPS/FedEx all day. I saw people walking out with IPP 12.9's on launch day and I picked one up a few weeks later no problem. The SKB and Pencil were another story but I finally got both.

My experience of last few iPad launches is you are able to walk in and buy one easily enough on release day. Not sure what availability of apple pencils are so may want to reserve one also.

I seem to remember that my iPhone 5s preorder went live at midnight here in the uk. I remember, because I fell asleep and got to order it at 12:20am or something crazy. But maybe things have changed. I'll definitely try for midnight again.
