You can just grab and pull the iPad out, works great for my mini and MacBook so that will probably work fine with the Pro too 🙂 I'll let you know in a few days.

Not this case for the iPad pro. But I've had very similar cases from this company for the iPad mini and iPad 2. They usually make multiple designs that are nicer. I don't really like these so I'll wait for something that looks better.

My wife got here sleeve today and I can confrim, it works the same as with my iPad mini. The leather is smooth so you can just grab the top and slide it out. She ordered a Teal/Orange, looks nice with her space grey iPad Pro, but I think I convinced her that it most likely will look a lot better with a gold iPad Pro and I wouldn't mind keeping the space grey for me 😉
 
I broke down and bought the apple silica case and cover, first time ever doing this with any of the iPad's I've had, so far I can't be happier, I think this case fits and doesn't add the bulk of the cases I've had in the past...plus like someone else said if I do get the keyboard it's an easy swap.

On a side note I went to Best Buy and when I bought it the rep said keep my receipts and packaging because they will accept returns now through January 14 due to holidays, so test drive a few if you like then settle in January on your favorite.

What stops the iPad from slipping and falling flat? Never used this case before, and there are no obvious notches that the edge can fit into that I can make out from the pictures.
 
Hmmm... it really feels like iPad 1 all over again. The iPad Pro is heavy and really needs a case / stand to be used effectively, but there aren't really many good options available for now.

I disagree, for the size of the iPad pro I don't think it's too heavy. A good case or folio is needed for when transporting though.

I'm not relating it to size. It's heavy period, just like how the original iPad was heavy. Size does exaggerate the weight however; try holding it for long periods with one hand gripping a corner.

This is a first Gen product of course, my point is that it needs a case / stand to use for long periods. Contrast the iPad mini 4, which you can hold with one hand at the corner for extended periods, and to a lesser extend the iPad Air 2.

I wouldn't exactly call this a first generation product since there were many iPads before this and Apple has already mastered materials and weight saving techniques. This is a larger iPad not a first generation product. I'm sure there will be future iPad pro's that are lighter but right now this is probably the lightest they can make it. Again the weight is fine for its size and it wasn't designed to be held in one hand for a long period either, though I can hold it in one hand for long periods without a problem because I have large strong hands.

A blanket statement like that is nonsense. If you think 1.5 lbs is heavy, fine, just don't act like it's some sort of universal opinion.

We went through this nonsense when the iPad mini came out, and people were claiming that the iPad Air was too big, and only fools would buy an iPad Air, after all, how can you possibly hold it without getting tired?

Fact is, there are three iPad sizes, and no one size is too big or too small. It's a mix and depend on the person and the situation.

You're taking the statement too literally and out of context. My reference point is to the original iPad 1. Relative to the iPad Air and Air 2 it was most definitely heavy.

The iPad Pro is heavy. I didn't say it was heavy to the point of being unusable, but it resets the equation wherein the refined versions of the iPad became successively easier to hold. It's now back to being a first-generation iPad which is more difficult to hold, not for everyone of course but really it's clearly back to square one. This isn't bad, it's just what it is.

Square one? You're speaking gibberish. Square one is a 1.5 lb 9.7", thick iPad. This isn't square one by a long shot.

Compared to the original iPad, the iPad Air 1 and 2 the iPad pro is not heavy. It's a much bigger iPad with more of everything, glass, metal, battery etc. Surely you don't expect it to weigh less than the current iPads. The weight of the iPad pro is actually quite impressive when you take all these things into consideration.

Saying the iPad pro is heavy is like my girlfriend saying her MacBook Pro is heavy. I beg to differ.

Clear Luvvitt flexible case from Amazon 50% off for $15. Fits great and like it a lot. The obvious problem is no great way fit along side with smart connector for keyboard.
I plan to try a dremel to remove material but first will try to evaluate how will fit against folding keyboard panels for support.
Worst case is lovely protected view of gold IPP and bezel when smart keyboard not in use.
PS. Fantastic bag and packing for this case.

For $19.99 it is a good starter case. Apple pencil fits nicely, has 4 angles for viewing. iPP now has a weigh in of 2 Lbs. 12 3/4 Oz. All ports are available, and, just maybe, music sounds even better in the case.

After a month in production and a week of shipping I received one a couple of days ago. It turns out it's not multi-angle at all. It's single-angle. I ordered it because Apple didn't offer a Smartcase for the pro and I didn't want Apple's two-part solution.

It might be good to know (at least I wish I knew) that the one angle that this case offers is not good for typing. It's halfway between the two angles offered by Apple's Smart Cover.

Funny thing they call it multi-angle when it's not. Or, wait, that's not funny at all.
