So do all iPPs have this issue or is it a defect? If anyone has talked to apple about it, please share their response, thanks!
(Mine is the 32gb space gray)

My silver 128 wifi had the clicking/creaking sound when pressing on the screen just above the home button. I went to the Apple Store today and replaced my Pro as I was still in the 14 day return period. The new iPad Pro Silver 128 wifi has no clicking/creaking sounds.

Regards,

Josh

Good to hear!

(Just FYI- return period is until January 8th because of the Holiday season (check your receipt))

I have the same problem with my new iPad Pro (black, 128GB, wifi). It makes a creaking sound / click when you press the screen at particular spots. Does anyone know what the problem is?

The only way to fix it is to exchange it (also mention the noise when you bring it in so they can relay that feedback to engineering)

Clicking noise on the bezel on the home button side. No clicking on the screen. LTE 128 space grey

Mine "creaks" a little when applying pressure from both front and back sides in the spots mentioned above.

I will not be following up on it. I don't see this as a problem.

My gold wifi 128GB model had the clicking issue. In particular I could hear a click when lifting the pencil off the iPad. I got it swapped out at the Apple Store and now no more clicking.

I have a Space Grey 128GB Wifi only model with the same issue, I really only could tell when I was using the pencil so I figured it was something to do with how often the hardware was scanning the screen.. then it kept happening when it was just typing on the device so now I am going to head back to the store today to hopefully get a replacement from them because once you notice it you cannot unhear it.

Yep, recently bought mine in Best Buy. 32 gb gold wifi. I noticed slight clicking / tapping when i was using Apple Pencil late at night the first few days i got it. Now i want it to go away. I'm still in the 14 day policy. I'll probably go in today and exchange it.

I'll test out the models they have out to use. It doesn't affect anything other than annoy. And confuse you. I thought it was my Ipencil at first but then started to tap slightly and i can hear it. You have to be real quiet. Once you tap it you will get a light sound or a pretty high tapping / pop / click sound. Reminds me of the sound mac makes when turning down volume. Sounds like that.

Hi

Just bringing up an old thread. I have this clicking noise on my 3 week old 10.5. It happens when I press the screen about an inch below the FaceTime camera and out to each side.

Should I be worried about this? I don't really feel like taking it back and the screen seems perfect.

It does bother me a bit though

I sent mine back because of this. They did not find the error the first time, so I had to send it back a second time. Still waiting...

I cannot replicate the issue. On yours, can you feel any flex as well or just hear it.? Either way, i don't seem have any problem on any part of the screen.

Although i did go through 3 surface pro 2's with the problem and eventually gave up .

I don't think I can feel it. Only hear it.

If I do it 10+ times in a row, then it will go away for a few seconds. Almost like I am pushing air out of it.

I have two gold 2017 iPad Pro 12.9" (mine and wife's). Both of them have noises when pressed around the facetime camera. One of them has it worse than the other, and you can hear the clicking noise when pressing on the screen near the facetime camera. The other one only has a little clicking to the right of the camera.

Did anyone ever figure out what causes the noise? As long as the screen isn't separating from the body, I don't really care about it. Tapping on the screen causes no problems and it's only noticeable in a completely quiet room. I wouldn't have ever noticed it, were it not for reading this forum.

Mine is the one that has the noise when pressing on the actual screen. The thing is, the screen on this thing is so perfect, I don't want to risk an exchange just for this. I've had notoriously bad luck with iPad screens and light uniformity. I don't want to mess with a good thing.

My 10.5 had this clicking sound around the camera, send it back and the new one had the same clicking sound in the same area. My two friends 10.5 iPad had the same clicking sound in the same area.
I think it's not an hardware issue, and btw it's noticeable at night in a quiet room.
The screen it's perfect and I don't see any glass movement during the clicking sound.
Maybe next year I'll call apple care and send it back For now it's not a big issue at all.
