OF course you would have to revise the iPad to do this both hardware and software but hey, you get best of both worlds in one unit. I mean that's what the surface pro attempts to do but can't do successfully, right?
Never heard of the old saying "jack of all trades..."? Why do you assume that your idea would automatically have the best of both world versus not doing either very well?

It's not a universal truth though. In point of fact these Windows tablets ARE really good tablets that can actually be used as PCs too. Apple can do the same thing, and all of it will only get better as performance continues to increase.

Imagine a device with this form factor running OSX and iPad apps. I'd pay $1000 for this. I'm sorry, iOS on the iPad is wasted on its amazing hardware.

What prompts the iOS comment about wasting the hardware? It's got its shortcomings and all but the iPad does lots of stuff fairly well. Just curious.

How good are the windows tablets though? IMO they are a tad clumsy feeling and a little fat for what a tablet ought to be. Not saying they have functionality problems but the form is a problem. Too heavy, widescreen just isn't right for a tablet, and it lacks the killer ecosystem of apps. Those are big negatives against a tablet!

The windows tablets I've used seem to be much more versed and capable of being a laptop than a tablet.
