I don’t really need MacOS to be honest, but I would like to see a mouse based mode where the apps run in windows for when I use the magic keyboard (or if you were to plug in a monitor). The problem there I think is Apples approach to RAM, they keep the amount low and use more aggressive management which would most likely wouldn’t work if you then need to keep multiple apps open on screen.

That is the path I wish Apple would take with the iPad Pros.

I'm guessing we'll see a "MacPad" with the current iPad Pro "shell" end of this year or early next. Running iPad and iOS apps there's gotta be a touchscreen cause as good as apple's trackpads are they would be clunky for touch input on apps.

This is probably the best article I've seen that shows how big sur's rounded corners fit perfectly in the iPad's display.
For me having apple pencil and the magic keyboard will be cool. I feel like apple could use the mac mini's bring your own keyboard mouse and monitor back with a iPad twist. It's exciting to think were close to having the best of both worlds combined finally after 10 years.

Recently I’ve been using my iPad to remote to desktop machines. It is strange to have a full desktop experience on iPad but I absolutely loved it. It felt like a huge step up in capability. I feel iPad needs to move in this direction. It is more than capable of running macOS especially now there is bigSur

On the deep dive side of things how are you all expecting this kind of thing to get accomplished? I’m talking file system level/disk level kind of thing. Fundamentally iOS is intentionally a sandboxed system so I’m curious what the anticipation is for the adoption of dual booting and its implication in terms of storage requirements that the market would possibly have to bear in order to be supported. Totally not impossible on the pro line I’m sure, particularly in larger storage variants, but a little unrealistic to be available for every ipad (not that anyone implied that this is what is expected).

On a hypothetical future iPad? Perhaps something similar to Hyper-V with the two OSs side by side and walled off from one and other.
