This is going to be amazing! I'll have even more hardware power under the hood that I can just admire but can't actually put to use because of artificially imposed limitations. But at least Apple will get extra revenue boost from the new hardware!
I’m excited about MLA OLED. Lg has been using it for a few years and Samsung sources them from Lg as well.Brightness is not the end all be all here. In certain instances like outside displays sure brightness is king but in many other instances it’s not. Micro LED is the best tech but thats years away from being viable to consumers. With OLED screens becoming better and brighter the perceived advantages of Mini LED shrink even more. Many professionals are starting to use OLED for post production because of the picture quality and accuracy, you dont have to worry and account for blooming etc.
My 2016 9.7 says glurgh please 🧟♂️ just let me die 🐌My 2018 12.9 says hurry please!
Have a 129 mini,ed with 1tb. All I really want is better battery life. If going to oled improves battery life then I’m in.I agree with you as I myself own the exact same iPad model. But you gotta admit; the battery life is horrendous on these things. The latest MacBook Pros have fantastic battery endurance. iPhones in Max sizes have it better too. What will make me upgrade is going to be a step up in battery life.
Does dark mode help you at all? Sounds pretty miserable. I get eye strain, but nothing like that, good grief.😰Just another Apple device that many of us won't be able to use because of PWM. I'm sure it will be great for those who don't get eye-strain, headaches, and nausea from those displays.
Two of the mostly same device to switch between a few inches throughout the day?my 2018 11" is remarkably holding up very well, year after year after year. what will I get out of using the next M3 iPad Pro? I think I want the 12.9", just to experience a bigger tablet. will probably also get an iPad mini to offset the bulkiness of the bigger iPad; and use the best, both worlds.
E-ink is made for reading. I would much rather have a Kindle + iPad than anything Android.OLED is great for reading in the dark, where mini-LED just produces blooming. I've been using a Samsung OLED tablet for a couple of years now, which I look forward to finally replace by an OLED iPad. Apple is really late to the game here (Samsung introduced the first OLED tablet 12 years ago). MIni-LED wouldn’t be a good option for my use case, and besides doesn't exist for the 11" anyway.
“Ask your doctor if OLED is right for you.”Just another Apple device that many of us won't be able to use because of PWM. I'm sure it will be great for those who don't get eye-strain, headaches, and nausea from those displays.
LCDs haven't come without their own annoyances. Ever seen a screen with bad pixel-walk?What is this obsession with OLED? To me, retina LCD was all the display I ever needed. But then Apple has to go screw everything up with OLED/PWM and temporal dithering. When the screens were OK, they were putting in low performance processors and the device would be obsolete in no time.
I'm really not too interested in OLED for the iPad because the display on my 12.9" is really good already. With an M1 chip and 16GB of RAM, I can't really see myself needing to upgrade anytime soon from my early 2021 model. It just never breaks a sweat doing anything that you're likely to do on an iPad.
The thought of an 11" iPad Pro with a better screen is intriguing, and now that I've downsized to a 14" MBP M3 Max from my old Intel 16", it makes more sense to have a smaller iPad Pro. The 12.9" can be bulky for a tablet and casual use. That might tempt me in another year if they aren't outrageously priced, per the earlier rumors.
Maybe there will be a 12.9 Air with the old superb display. But are the speakers still as crappy as from the Air3? (Only from one side in horizontal mode)Just another Apple device that many of us won't be able to use because of PWM. I'm sure it will be great for those who don't get eye-strain, headaches, and nausea from those displays.
E-ink is too low-contrast for me, and also not suitsble for reading in a dark room (with light text on dark background).E-ink is made for reading. I would much rather have a Kindle + iPad than anything Android.
