Really liking the Washington Post app on the iPP. You can scroll through stories, go two column, or zoom in for full page, great for these "old" eyes. I'm liking this layout better than the NYT.

App won't share the screen with other apps though.

Bad performance "choking"? That doesnt sound right for the Air 2. My Air works great with magazines so the Air 2 must also. Should be better since its got better guts.

I think he meant the original iPad 2, not iPad Air 2.

One of the main reasons that I bought the Pro was for Comixology. Read in landscape mode, two pages on screen is a sheer joy.

I'm also really impressed with how much more I enjoy reading magazines like ImagineFx in the larger format.

ImagineFX looks amazing at that size! Also, Comixology is awesome too - I agree that two pages is great, but I like to see one huge page - it is the same size as printed European graphic novels.

The iPad Pro has been out for about 2 weeks now. It will probably take a while for apps to be "optimized" for it. Meanwhile, I'm sure the larger screen and bigger objects on that screen are helpful for some people.

You guys are making want an iPad Pro more and more! I want to be able to see comic books, PDFs, and magazines on a screen that is roughly the size of an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper in portrait mode. I don't really need a keyboard, though. I rarely use the keyboard I bought for my iPad Air 1 two years ago.

The iPad Pro's screen is the best magazine reader I have ever used! You can view full page with sharp and vivid text and colors. Must see to believe!

Magazines and the viewing of web pages in portrait are the best of any available device. For me this alone is pretty much worth the expense of the IPP.

The National Geographic magazine is awesome on the iPad Pro. The iPad Pro is replacing my iPad 2 which was choking on most magazines.

Not Air 2 , iPad 2.

Would you be able to recommend some so we can check them out? Thanks in advance.

Here are a few well-illustrated kindle books that I've used....check samples, some have the illustrations at poor resolution that doesn't do well. There's an illustrated book on the dust bowl that I had high hopes for, but is that way.

Just discovered zinio for libraries. If your local library supports it you can use Zainie to download mags for free - the Queens NY library system has hundreds of mags, all big name titles too. Only disadvantage Is you have to "check out" and download each issue manually so if you miss an issue and refreshes to a new issue, you can't get the back issue, but once you do that you keep it. Small price to pay for free mags.

I love zini0, the best magazine reader to use if you don't want to buy any on subscription. Reading Apple insider in my pro is just beautiful

As the screen size is about the same as a real magazine page, it is absolutely amazing for this. Combined with the great screen contrast, magazines really "pop" on the display. But yeah, it would be a bit nuts just to buy an iPad pro for its magazine reading capabilities because considering its price you could buy years worth of real magazines for the same money and have them delivered to your door. But I am currently enjoying a free 2 weeks of Readly (UK). The choice is Zinio and specific magazine subscriptions or one-off issues, or Readly where I can simply read a few pages of one thing, a few of another, whatever takes my fancy!

The text is so much clearer on the screen. Of course it won't just be used for e-magazine /e-books /textbooks for my course, but still though reading on this thing has been a very awesome pleasure!!!

Children books would look great!

Anyone tried split view in landscape mode with say a magazine from the app store on the left and safari on the right? I am curious on how it rescales in both split view possibilities. Thanks

Magazines that I have are only viewed in portrait.

Magazines are brilliant on the iPad pro. A bit heavy, but the best tablet for content consumption

There are some apps that show magazines as being little more than PDFs, meaning they don't scale. Since (like some else mentioned), the iPad Pro's screen is almost the size and shape of an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper, it can show a magazine page at close to the size of the original printed version. That's one of my favorite things about the iPad Pro. There were magazines that were too small to read on the other iPads that look good on the IPP.

Oh, and I think it is much easier to hold an IPP in portrait mode than a Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

You're welcome! I really enjoy magazines on IPP, and the Texture holiday offer would make an awesome gift.

I figured out that you can also download back issues on Texture, wow I'm loving that. And being able to download for offline reading makes me glad that I went with the 128gb,lol! Now to just find the time to read all this deliciousness
