". . . will hold back [from releasing an iPad without 5G because it's not ready] . . ."

Or maybe the 'ol inspirational release:

And this new iPad Pro is amazing, especially with 5G connectivity.**

(**5G connectivity releasing later this year when available)

December 29, 2020: 5G iPad Pro orders begin shipping to pre-order customers

I hope they had reinforced the body to make it more robust.

Personal anecdote:

Amidst all the ‘purported bending issues’ that was exacerbated by tech sites like this, I never had an issue at all whatsoever with any type of bending with my iPad. [Yes, I use mine in a thin-port-folio case, but I wasn’t ‘overly’ gentle with it either,] I would put my iPad in my leather travel bag in the back pocket, no physical damage at all.

I’m not saying others didn’t have a ‘bad experience’, I’m just saying I never heard any issues outside sites like this with anybody having any type of bending at all.

Mmm would love apple to start considering hardware upgrade plans instead of new toys again and again. Don't want to ditch my now old, one year old, iPad Pro (wouldn't it be safer for the planet ?). Starting to feel a complete apple fatigue...

Why would you ditch a one year old iPad Pro? That’s insane. Most upgrade iPhones and iPads on something like a 3-5 year cycle; Macs even longer.

Strange to call a current product “old” but hey if you want to buy every new model that comes out, have at it. Whatever floats your boat 🙂

I’ll pass on camera updates in the iPad. From my perspective I’d rather it didn’t have a camera.

Video conveys nuance in body language and expression that audio lacks, just as audio conveys nuance in tone and pacing that text lacks. Conversely, video requires more bandwidth than audio, which requires more bandwidth than text. The former two also generally work better as realtime methods (text can easily be near-realtime like SMS, or asynchronous, like email). It's not a matter of any one mode being superior to the others, there is a right time and use for each mode of communication.
When my phones ring, the first thought passing through my heaad, "Great, now I am stuck talking to another human."

With text, you can just pretend you never got the message.

No issues with my iPad Pro either, though it’s almost always used with the Smart Keyboard (folded back if need be), which I guess helps with the structural rigidity some.

Considering how quiet this issue has been, I guess it’s safe to say that it’s another no issue blown out of proportion just because it’s Apple.

I don’t find any appeal in “upgrading” my iPad Pro to a three-camera system. I’ll wait for the announcement, hopefully there is more than that.

My wishlist:
  • XCode with the full functionality.
  • Backlit keyboard with trackpad.
  • MatLab, Spyder and full version of Excel.
  • BootCamp or some form of virtualization software to allow running real professional software (Mac and Windows).
  • The ability for apps to be reshaped and placed anywhere on the screen instead of the split screen options we currently have.
  • An additional USB-C port or headphone jack (yes, I want it back).
I realize this is mostly software related and even third-party developers thing.

I hope you also realize that none of these things will ever happen.

Because the iPad isn't a computer, right? "What's a computer?" the kid says.. Not the current iPad.

“Why is that old lady calling my iPad a computer” the kid says.

What’s rather humorous is to hear some people complain that Cook is trying to take away their Macs and replace them with iPads. And at a time when there’s at least six (depending on how you count) Mac product lines to choose from.

Yes an iPad is a computer. No, it doesn’t have the same capabilities as a Mac, and maybe never will. Could it if Apple wanted it to? Sure.
