Here are the pics for anyone who wants to know. I used the stick on pen loop here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QLF1NUE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

It fits almost exactly, not too tight and not too loose, and you can stick it anywhere you like. I set mine up for left handed holding and right handed pen use.

and the clip on hand strap here:

Everyone has been asking for solutions etc for what fits and whatnot so I thought I'd give you guys this info to help decide. I didn't opt for a smart keyboard cover because a) I have the apple wireless keyboard, the small one, and b) my wife is getting me the logitech one for christmas. I'm sure it fits over the smart keyboard cover too, though, because I saw it in store.

Oh, and, in case you want to know, the cover on the back is the military shield Zagg-type vinyl skin. I use it on all my iPads on the back to protect and keep it thin and light. The screen protector is tempered glass as well, this one is the one I got and it works great if you are interested:

It isn't prime but it got here in literally two days.

I hope this info helps all of you out there who are asking what to do with the pen etc. Here is a pic of the whole deal from the front:

Or use a Smart Cover and it'll stick to the side?

It is a smart cover - the apple non-keyboard one, and it does stick, but not well enough that it wouldn't easily get knocked off and lost with the first decent jostle. Even with the smart keyboard cover its the same amount of not-that-great magnetic stick. Ive seen magnetic covers you can buy for the pencil which might help, but it still won't do anything to prevent a brush off by accident. This way you don't have to eat a hundred dollar lost pen.

Going to do almost the same thing. Already ordered a pen loop exactly like yours. Will stick it to the back of my silicone case along the top edge (in portrait) at the midline, so the Pencil is secured at the top. There it won't be in the way if I fold back the Smart Cover or stand up the iPad. And it won't interfere with the Lightning port. Since I carry it in landscape orientation, it won't get in the way then, either.
