Went to 6 different Wal-Marts in Houston (I wanted to beat the system)

2 said they never heard of them.
1 said they'll get them in 3 weeks
2 showed me a piece of paper that said they can't sell them until 8 am
1 actually brought it out and tried to ring it up, but couldn't get it to checkout.

2 people at my Wal-Mart said they didn't have them. I kept pressing and someone came out the back with one for me.

Yeah in store pickup shows as 11/8. I will not take a chance on being stuck waiting for that so I will check out walmart later today since I have to go grocery shopping anyway. If not in stock, I will order from Apple.com

I am seeing the exact same thing. I would rather try to price match at Best Buy for RZ Points. I think supply should be rather plentiful.

Can't say I'm surprised though. I mean really how many people buy the 16GB model on a tablet? Can't be many. So of course they only did the discount for that one.

What I am surprised about is that Apple doesn't realize it's almost 2014. They should have ditched the 16GB model and replaced it with the 32GB model for the same price. Then possibly even add a 256GB model.

Plus this idea that every additional 16GB of space costs $100 when you can buy a 4TB hard drive for $150 is just ludicrous.

Anything under 64GB is useless for me as my 128GB iPad 4 is nearly full just from music, apps/games, and comic book CBRs.


I am picking up my 128GB model at the Apple store today. Already paid for! Good luck everyone!...

The 16GB for $100 is only true when you're going from 16GB to 32GB. Going from 64GB to 128GB, it's 64GB For $100 and $1.56/GB isn't bad at all.

You're right...but even still it's a lot of money dude. You can get 4TB for $150... and on Android devices you can get a 64GB MicroSD for $20. It probably costs them $10 more to add the extra space. Changing storage capacities is so insignificant these days.

I have music mostly on my iPhone for use in my car... but I have it on the iPad so I can dock it and play music around the house sometimes.

But here's something cool! Ready for pickup before the store even opens. I'm leaving in 20 minutes to go get it.

My walmart also had trouble ringing mine up. After about 10/15 minutes of trying, the manager just punched in the serial number and ring it up that way.

The only person in the store that knew what they were WAS the electronics clerk. They weren't even on display. They were locked away inthe cabinet under the drawer. And like posted earlier, there were only 6-8 of them. I kinda peaked as she opened it.its almost like they didn't want people to really know they had them because there were only a few.

The WalMart in-store pick up option dates are changing during the check out process.
For me it got worse. It started with pick up 11/4 and ended with 11/11.

Update: I stayed in the order and went to the payment page and the date changed to 11/13.

The US is waking up and ordering iPads first and coffee second.

Walmart could not keep their commitment of in store pickup today. I went there and the guy said no walmarts have them and he doesn't know when they'll get them#. Also got an "order delayed" email from Walmart.com saying they would get with me within 48 hours with more info on my order. So I cancelled and got one at best buy. Unfortunately they wouldn't price match after they called Walmart and found out that none have them in stock.

I will NEVER understand why the people of this board believe that if they're not the one using 16GB then nobody else is. Far from the truth. I've been using 16GB for years and use services such as Dropbox and iTunes Match to coincide w/ it so I don't use up space on my device. What's good for you doesn't apply to everyone else.
