Carrier iPad T-mobile 5G exclusive pass

I know this is an old post, but I would like to know this answer. Can I buy an additional 5 gb data pass/150 days and have it kick in when the present one is done? For my ipad air 2. Can they be stacked? Anyone know how long this will be available to purchase? It's still listed as of today under my data passes to purchase.

So I read on another site these passes can be stacked. I also read that binge on and music freedom is included too. Can anyone confirm or deny these as true statements? Thanks!

To me it is permanent because I am allowed to re-up the 5GB plan every 5 months on my iPad. Did you try re-buying?

I never used it. I only found out about it like two days ago. But I can just see T-Mobile not offering the option to renew eventually. 5GB for $10 for only one month is a great deal. To be able to spread that out over 5 months, with an extra 200MB free every month is crazy.
 
So, is this a one time shot only. one can get it once and then not renew it or reactivate it later?

I just renewed mine. That was after the 5 months expired, not the 5Gb. I don't know if you can renew it earlier than 5 months.
 
I have an ipad air 2. I renewed early (Dec) and it looked like at the time the countdown started at purchase according to the expiration date -therefore no stacking. My current 5gb plan wasn't due to expire until Feb. I believed I cut my 2nd data pass usage by 2 months. :( But In March the newer 5 gb purchase expiration changed to July- So that means that It did stack behind my 1st pass and when my first pass expired, the 2nd pass date changed(from the initial expiration of May) to when it was first tapped for data in Feb when the 1st pass expired, but presently the 2nd pass still says pending. I read somewhere that the free 200 mb chunk will be used up first, then the data pass will be tapped and that pending status will change.

To test out binge on I watched 2 netflix shows 3 nites ago with wifi turned off. According to the t-mobile cellular data account accessed thru settings/cellular/manage t-mobile account, I still have 200 mb of free data remaining and my pass is still listed as pending. According to the mim.t-mobile website, it says the same. So maybe we get unlimited binge on due to the pass being > 2 gb??? Since the other nite, I installed a data watch program and will stream some more netflix and keep tabs on how much data the tablet uses. Then compare to what t-mo says I used.

I will post back with more details.

That would certainly be nice if you can buy the data pass and then stream unlimited videos. That's for $2/month! Incredible deal!
 
Does anybody know if these $10 5gb plans are still available? I would love one for my trip coming up.

They are only available for the newest ipads- ipad air 2, ipad mini 3, and I guess the new ipad pros. You have to have the prepaid 200 mb free account(or at least that's what I have), hit the check data usage button when you sign into your account either on the ipad or on the mom.t-mo site, then go into buy data pass button and it should be selectable about the 3rd one down the list- 5gb for $10/5 months.
 
You don't need to already have a T mobile account. When you set up your iPad under settings>>cellular with t mobile, don't choose the 200Mb free option. Pick the 5Gb for five months option. You will automatically get the 200 in addition to the 5.

The plan says US, Candada and Mexico. I guess it won't work for Europe. Too bad.
 
How's the video quality on the 12.9 watching with binge on enabled? Hoping for better than "tolerable."
 
It seems like data is being used to stream video from you tube, 168 mb for about a 5 min. clip I'll have to check netflix.
 
So, after the first 5GB five month pass expires, have we confirmed that one CAN get it again?
 
I was able to sign up for an additional 5GB plan yesterday. My original 5-month plan expired in February and has been dormant since then.

Fine print says it can only be activated once, so don't be too surprised if it's cancelled. I'm waiting until June 1 to start it.... Hopefully it sticks around.
 
So I've got the 5GB pass for the 12.9 IPP, after I used my free 200MB of free data my pass automatically kicked in, but it says (Capped) it is only showing 1GB of data available. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Mine shows up with all 5GB. Unless you have another 1GB plan somewhere else connected to the account?

I only have the 200MB free a month and the 5GB for $10. I am sending a screenshot of my data plan. The only thing I can think of is mine says "capped" which I don't know what that means. But after I use my 200MB of data it only gives me 1 GB of data from my 5GB plan.

I just went to settings and cellular. The plan was right there when I chose to look at T mobile's plans.
