Angry much?

And you're going to buy this thing? Really?

I make my living off these stores you despise so much. You come off as one of those guys that thinks everything should be free. Musicians should make all of their music to you for free. Authors should slave over their keyboards for months creating free books for you to read, and I suppose you think software developers that charge for their hard work are also satan, correct?

Your argument is so flawed it hurts, anyhow. There are tons of ways to get third party content onto iDevices -- and tons of places you can get (legitimate) free content as well. Have you browsed the THOUSANDS of free tracks available via AmazonMP3? Those can be downloaded right into you iTunes library -- no charge.

And while its true these devices are made for portable media consumption, you're wonderfully open mind seems to have skipped right over other uses and utilities like maps, GPS, restaurant finders, shopping aids, and other things that have zero to do with media and content. Psh.

other then apps I havent bought anything in forever on either of my ipads or iphones. its not like you have to.

It's a common misconception that iTunes is some sort of cash cow for Apple. It isn't, at least not compared to their hardware.

Apple's intention is to run the iTunes ecosystem at about break even to increase the functionality and appeal of their devices. Apple makes money on hardware profits.

[Apple CFO] Peter Oppenheimer
…Regarding the App Store and the iTunes stores, we are running those a bit over break even and that hasn’t changed. We are very excited to be providing our developers with a fabulous opportunity and we think that is helping us a lot with the iPhone and the iPod touch platform.
