iPad2 Jailbroken on 4.3.3 when to update

I've downloaded 5.0.1, still gun-shy on installing it. If 5.0.2 comes out tomorrow, I can still install what I've already downloaded, can't I?

No, you can't. When iTunes is installing and fetching information, it also does the check to apple's servers and it will give you back an error.

Nope. There's no tool to downgrade between 5.0 releases yet. This is why pod2g urges people to update now. Better safe than sorry.

My "better safe than sorry" method is to hold on to my 4.3.3 jb as long as I can. If Apple releases 5.1, I'll have to make the decision to give up the jb or hold on to 4.3.3. Hopefully, the A5 jb comes out and I never have to make that decision.

what to do ? i have asked earlier , i have ipad2 4.3.3 JB. should i restore and update the up to date IOS ? thru itune ?

i have also checked, my cydia is showing that it has saved SHSH till 5.0.1

Does it mean, i dont have to use TU to save SHSH on my computer ?

Can i upgrade to 5.0 or 5.01 using itune, and if in near future if there is no JB ( Warst case ) then since my Cydia / computer has saved SHSH, can i go back to 4.3.3 and JB again ?

Pleae if some one who knows what he is talking can reply and explain ?

I'd like to know this as well. I'm not comfortable giving up my ipad 2 jailbreak yet though so I think I'll stay with 4.3.3 for now. It's been since October that my iphone 4 hasn't been jailbroken and i've felt the limitations. SBSettings and MxTube are probably the single reasons I won't upgrade yet.

wifi only ipad2 with 4.3.3 shsh's saved can downgrade without problems.

GSM ipad 2 with 4.3.3 shsh's save can downgrade via tinyCFW but its kind of a "beta" only not written for the masses.

CDMA ipad2 cannot downgrade.

Once Apple releases 5.02 there is only a small window where apple is still signing 5.01. At this moment there is no way to go to 5.01 after apple stops signing it.

So you can stay on 4.3.3 and gamble on still making the signing window on 5.01 if 5.02 comes out.

Or you can upgrade now to 5.01 and "gamble" on the JB coming out.

Even though the JB has hit some delay still pod2g is recommending people ,or at least hasn't retracted his statement on twitter to upgrade 5.01. The same applies to p0sixninja.

Thanks...i have had infee JB experince so far. so i can upgrade to 5.01 and wait for new JB. i can survieve without JB for some time.

But, now how do i save SHSH ? using TU ? or Thru Cydia ?
My cydia does show 4.3.3 5.0 and 5.01.. and i have also taken SHSH using TU.

Just a quick question ..if my SHSH is saved by cydia, and if i upgrade to 5.01 ( So, now i dont have Cydia on my ipad ) . since i dont have cydia installed on my 5.0.1, if i descide to come back 4.3.3. how do i get SHSH from cydia ? How does it works ?

Or its good to save SHSH on the Desktop , to come back 4.3.3 and JB..

it's best to have your 4.3.3 blobs saved on Cydia and on your computer as well. Tiny Umbrella has settings that will change your host file to point to Cydia's server when you're doing the restore.
