iPadOS 26 is pretty much a mess as nothing is where it should be, there are features that used to exist and were accidentally removed and there are weird bugs that make no sense. Here’s a few examples:

  1. Try to figure out how to block quote text in Notes. Hint, the option is missing from the pop up menu format submenu.
  2. Try to copy text from one app and paste it into another using the onscreen keyboard paste icon.
  3. Try to close the last tab in Safari.
  4. Try to view an email message full screen in Mail.
  5. Try to use slideover, which is still listed as a feature on Apple’s help pages.

Good list 👍 There are so many, even setting aside the gratuitous shuffling of button locations.

6. Making everything huge reduces useful space, which is a problem especially on minis but even on base iPads

7. Quick Notes look like a jumble of random UI elements with note content overlapping UI stuff at the top

8. Clipping of web page text with the status bar elements in portrait orientation Safari’s Reader mode

9. Depending upon the background, Safari shortcut folder outlines vanish

10. Passwords app: if you have multiple logins for a website, the Passwords app only offers you the option to fill in the password from the first of them; you have to open the app and manually copy the password for any additional login you might be trying to use.

Well today i just updated my ipad m4 11inches to ios26, well i couldn't drag icons into a folder without the device freezing and resetting...

I had to perform a clean ios 26 installation problem solved...

Now iphone 13....

Update: it still crashes with clean OS installation, apparently changing to dark mode icons cause it.

I noticed when I start typing a post to a forum, the whole screen takes on a light-blue tint (as if I’d hit CMD-A), which doesn’t interfere with anything and goes away on its own in about ten seconds. Anyone else notice this?

I got the iPhone 17 and Air decided to sell the 17. I was hoping to keep one as my spare but I prefer the iPhone 11 on iOS 18. I prefer the lightness of the air. eSIM is a pain but I find the standard 17 boring so finding best to sell and keep the Air as my main one

Keeping one of my iPads on iOS 18 and also my older Apple box doesn’t get update anyway

The stuttering in Safari is ridiculous. It is the only open app, with a single tab, and I get stuttering on sites where I had none on iPadOS 18. iPad 11/A16 just 5 months old. To make it even better, over time an annoying latency develops between taps on links and Safari eventually taking action. Again, totally new in 26.

Pressing on the traffic lights in Pages makes them get bigger but also simultaneously scrolls the document up to the top.
Sometimes I needed a quick scroll up to the top I accidentally double tap the top, but instead of scrolling to the top, it resizes the app window for me… Really POS iOS 26… iOS 18 doesn’t do that - it just scrolls to the top no matter how many times I tap the top corner.

Uhh don’t double tap?? Double tap switches between full screen and previous size. Of course 18 doesn’t, window sizing wasn’t even an option.

I’m a very impatient person… so I tend to double and triple tap on anything trying to get things done quickly…

Not saying its what you should do, but, if you use a keyboard, cmd + the up arrow button will do the same. My hands usually rest near the keyboard so it’s a more convenient method for me. Without a keyboard, you’ll have to use a single tap.
