Even for file management, iPadOS does not support NTFS drive and various Linux filesystems. And transfer speed is slow. On top of that, there is no “safety remove USB drive” feature.

A little of topic, but I format all my storage, network, and USB drives/sticks as exFAT. Never have issues with Windows, Linux, or MacOS mounting them and reading and writing on them.

Not a great fit for everyone, but I have moved quite a bit of my video editing to the pro as it simply does things faster for quick marketing or podcast videos than FCPx in my use case. I am really happy to be able to use Luma and copy items into it from a full fledged USB hard drive, or thumb drive.

Mouse support is also 👌

I just noticed the improved file system. What a shock. It's actually like a real computer! :D
I have yet to use a USB drive. A nice treat.

Man.

There's probably other stuff I haven't seen. I still haven't tried a mouse. I'm not expecting much. They need to go all-in with that. Obviously someone had to work around a 'mission statement'. The last mission statement "Thou shall not Pen", what a tough nut, i'm sure.

No doubt iPadOS 13.1 is a big improvement. But it's still not there. I tried multiasking with spreadsheets and a Pencil and I could still work far faster on my MBP. I tried plugging in an A73 yesterday to get video off it, and followed all trhe tutorials. It was seen by the Files app and Photos, but I couldn't grab any files (looked blank). I had to resort to Sony's Image transfer app via wifi that took forever.

I may have missed something, but I could have accomplished that in a few minutes on the laptop. The vaunted "desktop class" browsing in Safari is better, but there are still sites that don't work 100% with it, or elements end up off the page, inaccessible, etc. Still need the MBP.

Don't get me wrong, It's a huge step in the right direction. It's a lot closer. But it can't replace the laptop yet. Not for me.
