Apple stores opened at 9am this morning to start selling the iPad to customers. Some forum readers are starting to post impressions and photos in this forum thread. Meanwhile, iFixit already has one that they are disassembling.

Here are some instructions and tidbits we'll be gathering and updating over time:

- First impressions/delivery forum thread
- MacRumors' iPad forum for further discussion
- Video of iPad unveiling at Apple Store.
- Apple posted instructions on how to set up MobileMe on iPad
- "Get Started" guide and User Guide (PDF)
- Apple's iPad Case and the iPad Dock are incompatible with each other.

You're stuck in Canada and I'm stuck without money :(

I mean you're stuck in Canada and the release date is still a ways away, not that being stuck in Canada is a bad thing.

i want one also, hopefully later this month thy will be released internationally :D and by the way, happy easter to everyone

Didn't preorder but already in line

I am waiting in line at the San Francisco store but me and some others in line haven't preordered. Anyone know how this will be handled? I don't wanna wait for hours and be told I don't get one cause I didn't preorder :(

If the store has like 10% more stock than pre-ordered inventory, then you may be in luck. Otherwise you will have to wait until 3pm to see if some pre-ordered iPads weren't picked up by those who pre-ordered.

Alternately, you could go to a Best Buy (with an in-store Apple area) store and get one from their inventory... it's first come; first served there.

Demand for Wi-Fi models is about 20% higher then the 3G models.

Went to my Best Buy in Garland TX. Line outside 15 min before store opened. Best Buy was handing out vouchers for all three iPads. They said come back at 5 because thru didn't have them yet. They had a demo to look at, so some were staying. I was gonna reserve a 3G, but the hype gotto me. I scored a voucher for 32G unit, because I figure I'll give to a family member. WooHoo I am getting one today, no line waiting!!!!!

In hand

Writing this on my new iPad. UPS tracking showed it in Richmond but the UPS guy was at my door here in Roanoke, VA at 8:40!

THAT VIDEO... so sad.

People are screaming and making triumph signs as if buying a product is something of merit and accomplishment. So stupid. It's a limited platform computer! I can understand wanting one, but this kind of misdirected euphoria is disgusting.

I'll get one myself later this year when they debug it all and add some more stuff onto the device. It isn't going to save my life, like these people are acting, just going to make mobile computing more convenient.

Not to answer my own question but before people read your response and turn away the store has split the line one for preorders and one for non preorders. And it sounded like they have a lot to go around.

BUT I am at the flagship store downtown. So I don't know what the smaller stores are like but if you are near a flagship you're in luck if you didn't preorder.

"misdirected euphoria"

I laughed, that's pretty good.

can anyone tell me if the iPad can play Mafia Wars and Farmville on facebook? I need to know for my wife, if it can't she won't want it.
