Mine just came not more than five minutes ago.

The UPS guy knew full well what he was delivering, and claimed he "… had alot of deliveries" of the device in the Milwaukee WI area.

Flash is terrible, and everyone is going to start going to HTML5 soon anyways. Flash sites always have tons of bugs because people dont program is correctly, plus its a CPU hog and slows everything down.

Apple is just once again ahead of the curve. Remember when people laughed at Apple for not putting floppy disk drives in their macs anymore? Less than a year later everyone follow their lead.

hmmm... why do we have flash? Perhaps because its the year 2010 and html is still in 1996?

With all due (unwarranted) respect, this device IS a computer. It is vastly more capable than a Mac+, which was a computer. It is probably comparable to an early PowerPC G4 in compute capacity, but the size of a sheet of paper, not a bread box.

So to directly answer your inquiry, no, we cannot.

Rocketman, I have to agree with you. I have to laugh at some of these comments about how expensive is the iPad or how no one is going to buy it blah, blah, blah. There is a great website called archive.org where you can go as far back to 2004 for many web sites including, macrumors and it would be embarrasing for some if we went back. Macrumors should give an annual award for the most stupid comment or prediction that did not happen such as no one will buy the iPhone...it's too expensive. There could be awards for people right on. i just checked one out here in chicago on michigan ave. i must say, its pretty cool, and i was a loyal mac user that was on the fence about this device.

the video content on the nytimes, cnn, and vimeo works incredibly well with the device. i found myself going to more video links than i even would on a computer because the video looks so good on the device...especially when flipped to landscape mode.

hmm...now...do i get one?

People are screaming and making triumph signs as if buying a product is something of merit and accomplishment. So stupid. It's a limited platform computer! I can understand wanting one, but this kind of misdirected euphoria is disgusting.

I'll get one myself later this year when they debug it all and add some more stuff onto the device. It isn't going to save my life, like these people are acting, just going to make mobile computing more convenient.

iPhone prices went down mostly because the phone companies pay a huge part of the cost (and charge you for it over the time of your contract). Since nobody is going to give Apple money when you buy an iPad, I don't think the price will come down.

What I expect to happen obviously is that in two years time you will get a lot more iPad for $499 to $829.

I don't like flash as much as the next person, but poor programming can and does happen in ANY language. You could dump flash today and there will still be poorly coded sites in whatever language you replace it with. The biggest problem with flash is the plugin technology. Now that Google is building flash into chrome I wonder if there might be some new life.

I really need a new MBP, and there is no point in buying now since they are overpriced for the hardware that's currently in them. Apple has basically said that nothing else was going to be worked on until the iPad release was finished. Now that it's done, maybe we can get back to some normalcy of a company that sells more than a single product.

BTW, I just saw the first iPad ebay sale close. The $499 version went for $651. Only a $152 premium. I would have expected more based on the launch day hype, maybe the demand isn't as high as originally thought. If demand isn't as high expect quick price cuts.

I knew that i would love this device, but i had no idea how truly amazing it would be. I haven't even used my iPhone but for two phone calls since the iPad came. The device is unbelievable. It is possibly the best apple product i have ever bought.

The iPhone displays lyrics if you have added them to the song, so I would assume the iPad does as well, but I do not know for sure.

I also assumed so, but it does not mention lyrics at ALL in the online user guide, so it probably does NOT. I will not buy an iPad unless if displays lyrics. Has anyone actually tried this yet?
