I'm curious if the iPads being bought in the store today have been pre-loaded with 4.3.1 yet, or if they're still going 4.3 and requiring the user to update them.

Thanks!

My expectation would be that units you would find on a store shelf today would be running 4.3, whereas if you placed an order on apple.com today, the unit you receive will have 4.3.1.

But mine doesn't come till Thursday, so I won't know about orders shipped this past weekend until then. :)

Well the stock is still constrained, so if you're buying one in store today odds are it was delivered to the store today or yesterday, that's why I asked.

Mine was loaded with 4.3 and I had to update it.

Mine was delivered yesterday from Macmall & came with 4.3 loaded.

I'm not updating just yet I hear there is a JB for iPad 2 4.3 but not 4.3.1 they just need to pack the JB code without copy protected data.

Yeah reason I asked :)

I have a 64gb wifi and it has one tiny semi stuck pixel. I may just wait.

Picked up one today from a Target and it had 4.3. Need to update still.

I don't get the sense that Apple updates the assembly line for .z releases. These releases are usually bug fix releases that don't introduce any new features, so it really isn't a big deal to have the customer update upon purchase. It takes time and costs money to upgrade the assembly line for new software/firmware so I would think any manufacturer would minimize the changes in procedure.

even if you get 4.3 your in the same boat as me. I didnt backup my shsh's and I was away when apple released 4.3.1. by the time I got back and tried to back them up it was too late. so ya my ipad 2 is on 4.3. but I only get 1 crack at jailbreaking it if I have to restore I have to restore to 4.3.1. hopefully the devteam has a plan.

I also hear in addition to bug fixes that 4.3.1 closed the 4.3 JB hole found on the iPad 2 so those updating to 4.3.1 will prob be waiting a while.

I also didn't get a chance to grab my 4.3 SHSH so will be very carefull on this JB hope they can get a legit JB packed up soon.

Wow thats only been said 5000 times

You mean I'm the 5000th person to say it???

Was there a contest 5000th person wins the prize LOL :D

You win the prize lol.

Reason I was asking was because my unit had a dead pixel and I wanted to get it swapped but nit lose the ability to jailbreak. I went in and they'd just gotten today's shipment in (4/6) and so they swapped it for me. Much to my surprise and happiness the version is 4.3 not 4.3.1...

Thanks!

It came with 4.3 then i had to update it to the 4.3.1, I just got it on the 7th of April.

I received my Ipad 2 1.5 weeks ago and it had 4.3

Got it swapped for a brand new in box unit yesterday at covent garden and it was running 4.3.1

received mine yesterday.

4.3.1

looks like there shipping updated

oh lol, see above.

4.3.1 and purchased in store this morning.

For those who received 4.3.1, do you have backlight bleeding issue?

Mine seems very good, no major overt issues. There is a light border around the perimeter, but nothing I would consider distracting. However I haven't cranked the brightness past 50, heck I lowered it a bit.
