It seems that these new iPhone’s have better water resistance.

Would you be able to use the cheapest iPhone 11 in bath for example?

I personally would not use my iPhone in the bath/shower, but that's just me (and I have AC+ too).

If you're just soaking in a bath without the water on and you're careful, then you'd be okay. But I woudn't bring my phone in the shower with me.

yes you can take iphone 11 in bath or shower Because Its Water Resistance..

I've been taking my phones into water since the 7, but I'm in the minority. I don't really have a problem taking the XS Max or 11 Pro into water, but you should probably consider if you've dropped it, sat on it, if you can deal with the replacement cost etc.

it's "supposed to be" water resistant, but there's zero guarantee that it will be. So that pretty much means it's not for intentional dunking.
The water proofness was added to the phone to (hopefully) protect it against accidental submersion. But the phone definitely wasn't designed to be used in the water.

Yes it is water resistant up to a certain point. But water coming out of a shower has way more pressure than your rating guarantees. See keep away from showers, soap a.s.o. Maybe you can live without your IPhone in the shower. Just try it... there is a life in the tub without a phone.

Steam can penetrate seals much more easily than water and that’s the problem with a shower (detergents don’t help either).. I personally don’t take my expensive electronic devices near or in water regardless of water resistance claims due to the fact that Apple specifically says they won’t cover water damage..

Something inherent in me has solidified that water & electronics don’t mix and regardless of advances in durability in these devices I have never, not once felt the urge to intentionally push my luck. It could have the be all & end all, ultimate ip rating known to man and I still would resist using my phone near water.

I would leave my phone in the other room or outside and it will automatically connect to my waterproof speaker I bought from wish. Go for the cheapest bluetooth speaker instead ;)

If you can’t stay away from your phone long enough to take a shower or bath, you need to seek some professional counseling.

I wouldn’t take my $1,000 electronic device near water if it can be avoided. You (and anyone else) shouldn’t either.

You’re placing faith into seals that degrade (assuming that they’re correctly installed and functioning in the first place), steam that easily defeats water proofing mechanisms, and detergents that reduce water surface tension that your phone relies on to keep water out of many openings on the phone.

Beyond that, there’s no guarantee OR warranty that will cover you when it inevitably fails.

Feel free to what you want, but it’s your $1,000+, not mine.

Why do some people still struggle to understand that water resistant is not the same thing as water proof?

I'm kind of scared to ask this, but why would anyone ever want to bring their phone into the shower??
Music, I know one person who bought an older iPhone 4 and sets it on the shower windowsill to listen to music. (I won't get into the other reasons you're probably thinking of)

On the contrary, I think people do realize the differences on sites like this, they’re just negligent and quite frankly, lack simple understanding you don’t take your iPhone in a shower/bath tub, but I also question if these threads are legitimate or if they’re intentionally trying to cause rehashed silly arguments over something we all know common sense should prevail.

....In the bath? There’s no legitimate reason why anyone would want to use an iPhone in the bathtub or shower. You’re asking for problems.
Reading a book on the kindle app, catching up with news, watching something on catch up/live sports event, listening to music, personal admin etc. There are plenty of reasons to use a device in the bath that are no different to reading a paper book or magazine, for example.

Shower on the other hand, well I don't get that at all as surely a) no hands free to use a phone and b) such a short period of time there is no need to have a phone in there.

I read books, newspapers and watch films/shows on my phone in the bath. Do I need professional counselling whereas someone who reads physical newspapers, books and watches Netflix on the tv, does not?
