So my new 11 Pro won’t connect to carplay at all. I’ve tried all the suggested fixes I find online With no luck. The phone connects to my 2019 MB C300 bluetooth and I can make calls and such through the car bluetooth, but carplay just doesn’t work at all. I tried it on my sister’s 2019 Subaru and it doesn’t work either.

anybody else have the same problem? I’m going to the apple store and see if They can give me an exchange and hope I just got a bad unit.

Try rebooting. There are new CarPlay settings and authorizations. Check those as well

On my car, not a Suburu, after I plugged my phone into my car via usb, I went into settings, general, carplay and then on my car, held the voice command button in the car, and then the car showed up in the car play setting on phone. Then carplay showed up on my car screen.

The first thing I had to do on my Pro Max was to change to an OEM cable. My aftermarket cable worked fine on my XS Max, even on iOS 13, but wouldn't even charge my Pro Max.

I deleted my phone from both CarPlay and bluetooth. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I unplug and replug the OEM cable and it works...sometimes.

iOS 13.1 did not solve this issue, unfortunately.

does your car have wireless carplay? Mine doesn’t

I have a Pioneer NEX 8400 headunit and it works fine wireless. I have not tried wired.
I did have to delete the car in Settings and on the headunit after the 13.1 update and repair.

Which cable are you using dalmoradie?
I’ve used so many different cables... first the original one that came with the phone, then the one supplied by MB, and some other cables I have. None works.

Thanks everybody for trying to help out, but I think I really got a bad unit and will try for an exchange at the store.

Surprisingly nobody’s asked this, but have you tried contacting Apple technical support? There are some pretty experience techs who have decent knowledge on Apple CarPlay, but being this is such a new version, I’m not sure what the troubleshooting steps would be for iOS 13.

Yes, they just asked me to do the same things everybody suggested. I got so frustrated so I said I will just do an exchange.

I'm having the same troubles with my 11 Pro CarPlay attaching to a Pioneer aftermarket head unit. It worked fine on the 13.1 developer preview 4, but since yesterday (13.1 final) has been extremely flaky. I've submitted a Radar, so hopefully this gets fixed soon

Problem solved! I decided to try something I didn’t think of before. I did a reset of my car’s multimedia system and now carplay works flawlessly! It was a bummer to have to reset all my preset stations and car system preferences, but that’s ok.

Thanks again for all feedback!

I had the same once I loaded 13.1 with a Pioneer NEX 8400.
I had to forget the car from the Carplay settings, and delete the pairing in the head unit and redo the whole setup and it has been good since.

Hi

also try turning Siri off and do the hey Siri set up again. If that doesn’t work Then try resetting the network settings.

Having the exact same problem with my Mercedes. I've contacted Apple support, tried reinstalling iOS on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, reset my Mercedes system and it just won't work. Works absolutely fine with my friends iPhone 11 Pro Max and partners iPhone XS.

I've also turned Siri on and off. Reset the network settings.

Really don't wanna return my iPhone just because CarPlay won't work!

Anyone else had any luck fixing this aside from the solutions above?

CarPlay rarely works with my 11 Pro Max. It isn't recognized by USB and I've tried a number of different lightening cables. I know its exclusive to the 11 Pro (and possibly 11) as I can successfully connect the XS Max, XR, X, and iPhone 8 without issue. Is anyone else having issues with their 11 Pro?

I seriously don't understand how Apple could screw this up so badly. While I really enjoy the phone, I shouldn't have these issues with a $1500 device. Really frustrated as its the phone and definitely not the Car. For reference, my vehicle is a 2018 GMC Yukon. I'd love to know if anyone else is having similar issues.
