Day 7 and the buyers remorse has set in on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I love this phone but but don't feel like I'm getting $400 more out of this than I would out of an iPhone 11. Aside from the screen resolution, the iPhone 11 has everything I want. Anyone else in the same boat? I wish the 11 had been bumped to 1080 from 750.... ugh!

Side by side I cannot see loss of detail. I acknowledge others can so not trying to start an argument, but me, myself cannot see degradation in moving to the 11 screen and I refuse to get caught up on specs.

2 things have me pausing on swapping my Pro Max for the 11. One is the telephoto lens as I do value that. The other is screen size. I prefer the taller, wider screen of the Pro Max and the way it displays larger text in safari.

The 11 LCD screen is much easier on my eyes and that’s the battle I face. I can’t comment on value because every person’s perception of value is unique. But I think the 11 is well priced for what you get.

I can say that I owned a XS Max and I say people with the xr and I would never use that XR. In real life situations, I can see the big difference in screen quality. Now with the pro and the 11, the battery is better, extra lens on the camera and the screen quality is better which I can see based on that xr screen

I returned my iPhone 11 Pro and went back to my iPhone 8. I didn’t feel that the upgrade was justified whatsoever and money wasn’t really an issue. I just felt ripped off. Hence why I returned it.

The difference in screen quality is there, but it’s very insignificant IMO. It’s like, you notice it for the first minute or two, after which your eyes just adjust and you don’t miss the OLED at all. That’s been my experience.

To me, the iPhone 11 is hands down a much better value and THE phone to get if you must upgrade. Personally, I thought that the telephoto lens sucked. It made all zoomed in photos lose a lot of detail (even in good light) and I couldn’t imagine myself actually wanting to use it. It’s just a gimmick for now that really needs another couple of years to grow into something useful.

I dont want to create a whole nother thread but i have a question. Why do i see so many exchange and return threads? Im asking because do people not care about paying restocking fees? I just bought an XS but may do an exchange for the 11 pro, so i went to look at the procedure for Verizon and itll cost me 50 to exchange.

Understandable. If the extra diagonal inch of screen and small bit of clarity (plus the 2x telephoto camera on the back) isn't worth $400 to you, def can't go wrong with the 11. I would even say that it might be worth going back to the X if you plan to do the big upgrade next year with 5G?!? Save yourself another $100 going with the X.

There are no restocking fees for buying iPhone from Apple.

I hear you and if you’re in the return window go for it. I don’t really think ripped off is the proper term here though considering that you upgraded by choice.

to me xs max > 11 Pro Max was worth it.

Keep the phone. It’s not worth your time.

If you were still thinking about upgrading, maybe it would be best to get the 11 - last year I went 7+ -> XR because the XR suited my needs.

This year I went XR -> 11 Pro Maxbecause upgrading to the 11did not make any sense, and even though this upgrade was by no means justifiable (I think it cost $729 before tax), it means I get to have the best iPhone for the next year.

Everyone says that “ripped off” is not the proper term. What they fail to notice is the word “felt” right in front of it.

When you don’t get your money’s worth, you have the right to feel ripped off. Just because you bought it by choice doesn’t mean that it lived up to your expectations. Therefore, feeling ripped off is justified until you return the phone.

After returning the phone, I no longer feel ripped off. Thank God for the return policies.

Not a single person on here has mentioned build quality differences, and durability, or longevity of the actual device physically.

the iPhone 11 is aluminum. My iPad Pro was ever so slightly tapped with hard wood standing in a door way and it dented the soft aluminum.

stainless steel is super strong, and is probably the only selling point for me. It won’t crush.

people keep saying next year, next year, next year. What damn year is anyone ever gonna be happy?

the iPad Pro 2018 was a total redesign but yet all we hear is “Next year” next year next year.

life is right now. And I’m not living inside of hopes and dreams of next year next year.

5G is worthless to me and a lot of other people too... I’ll never see it anytime soon!

I tell you what, enjoy your new phone. If you really have buyers remorse then return it if you have to. Or keep it for 12 months and trade up for $400 bucks..

next year isn’t bringing anything ground breaking.. and there will forever and always be “Next year”

I am enjoying the iPhone 11 Pro Max! And I’ll pre-order next year next year next year too!

NO REGERTS! Been up since 5AM, it’s almost 9PM with 55% battery left.

Totally agree about ‘next year’. You shouldn’t live your life wondering what’s coming next year: just live for the here and now and enjoy this year’s phone! Annoys me how people write it off by saying, ‘wait for next year
, it’ll be amazing’ - no one knows that!

Rant over 😛

To me ripped off is pretty much synonymous with cheated.

If I buy a like new iPhone on Craigslist only to find out it has hardware issues was reported stolen and I can’t reach the seller I’d feel ripped off.

I wouldn’t feel ripped off in your case. I’d just think it’s not worth it to me. To wash their own though.

The ‘5G’ hype is overrated, that’s not even going to be a selling point right away for consumers, being it’s vastly limited in the beginning stages. That will take time for expansion. The 11 Pro is a solid phone, Apple Made some really nice changes this year, but more than anything, the Pro (Including the 6.1 11) is aimed for consumers who are on the iPhone 6s/7/8 who have not upgraded yet.

When I ran the numbers, the price difference was actually $550 more for the pro Max, not $400. The reason is I can’t spend big bucks on a phone to only have 64GB of ram, so it’s an extra $50 to get 128 on the 11. That’s an extra $150 on the Pro Max to get 256GB. That extra $100 is getting you more storage, but for me 256GB is a waste.

The next price jump is AppleCare. $199 on the Pro, $149 on the 11. Out of warranty repairs are even more on the Pro so it seems like Apple Care is a must.

I could in no way justify an additional $550 for the small differences between the 2...

I opted for the iphone11 coming from the xs max and haven’t looked back. It is a great phone. I can’t tell the difference in resolution. The cameras are great and I’m saving money by not getting the pro max. The xs max was a great phone so I held onto it while I tried out the 11. Within a few days I was ready to trade it back in.

I’ve been using the iPhone 11 for 5 days now. My wife didn’t want it. I got att bogo plus $400 in gift cards when i opens new line for my 9 year old.

anyways. I had xs max 256gb So for couple if days. I definitely noticed the downgrade in oled back to lcd. My wife took my xs max cause she wanted bigger screen. She had 8 plus.

but now i. Don’t really notice lcd quality vs oled. I’ve gotten used to lcd screen again.

but than again i i just pulled the trigger on iPhone pro max 256gb midnight green for pickup at local Apple store at 10am today!

I’m just a phone addict.

The biggest temptation for me to go from 11 Pro to 11 is the size. The 11 is the perfect size. The pro is just a bit too small and the pro max is just a bit too big. I'd not save a ton by exchanging though since I already bought a case and screen protector from Apple.

You haven’t been ripped off because you knew what you were buying at the time you bought it. Ripped off is buying an item described as one way but it not matching/living up to that description. You just have buyer’s remorse.

Did you ever feel this way about a car?

The telephoto lens sucked? It does not "suck" on the max and I can't believe it "sucks" on the pro max and I take some great pictures with the zoom.
