Yeah, right...# 1 I’m on Apple’s update program. # 2 Those launch day crowds are insane. No way I’d go near a store that day or the week following. Also how do they sell out completely in one second and people ordering an hour later still get 9/20? I think Apple owes me for THEIR screwup. And an explanation is still in order.

Well, open the Apple store app...Find your order...Scroll down to the bottom and under "need help", select chat and ask them to owe you something or an explanation.

It's first come, first serve on pre-launch day and as I've said over and over, a few seconds can cost you a week or more in delivery times...it's just the way it is...

I got the UPS Tracking Number for the shipment of my iPhone 11 Max Pro entering the order number minus the last two digits in "Track by Reference Number" on the UPS website. I was able to verify that the delivery address was correct. Entering my phone number resulted in the same tracking information.

I also pre-ordered a Series 5 Apple Watch. The status of my order is "Preparing to Ship". I tried tracking the shipment the same way: entering the order number without the last two digits in "Track by Reference Number" on the UPS website. However, I got tracking information for an Apple delivery to another city and State. The Shipment Details available with the UPS My Choice account include several Reference Numbers but my phone number is not among them. I called Apple, but was only provided with baseless assurances that I will get delivery of the Series 5 Apple Watch on September 20th.

Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated.
 
It might be the correct flight but not for today. UPS 99 is a daily flight from ICN that ends in KSDF (Louisvlle) or ONT (Ontario, CA - west coast hub).

Thanks for putting poll up It’s quite informative at this time, most orders (of this crowd responding) are Pros and 47 percent are green pros and 42 percent are space grey pros. So I now see why my 512GB space grey 11 Pro Max was out so soon into the few minutes of opening preorders. Seems like space grey and midnight green are most of what we ordered. Very interesting and explains a lot to me. Thought the space grey the old color would not be so popular (worked other years) wrong this time LOL
 
No, they won't do anything. It's first come, first serve on pre-order day. A few seconds wasted here or there, is a lifetime during the initial pre-orders...

I find that impossible to believe since many who ordered minutes or even hours later fared better. Makes no sense.
 
They didn’t screw up. It isn’t ticket master where tickets are reserved during the order process. Phones aren’t reserved until the order is 100% submitted which is why it shows as an estimate and not a guaranteed, so during the time it took you to order the particular model you wanted the ship date slipped a week due to high demand. They didn’t screw up. Apple should compensate you because you require immediate gratification of having your phone on release day? Patience man it’s just a phone. Look at it this way the novelty of having it will wear off a week later than those who receive it on release day. Apple isn’t going to compensate you for your impatience when they didn’t make any errors.

sorry man. That is honestly just bad luck and I would be as livid as i think you are. Hopefully they can improve for you! But if I were you I would keep trying to get a hold of apple to get an explanation and possibly just screw it if they cant help and try your luck with launch day stock at your local stores....

If I had to deal with your self entitled condescending attitude I’d put you at the back of the line, too. Or escort you to the exit and cancel order and teach you how exits work.
 
apologies if this has been covered already but I dont see the same options in UPS as previous years allowing for pickup at the UPS Hub (Ours is about 20 mins away). I did this one year and it was a pretty smooth process so I thought about maybe doing it again this year. The one option I do see which is intriguing is changing the address. If I changed the address to my work this would likely result in a much earlier delivery than home which usually is 4-5PM. Thoughts? In general I dont want to screw with this too much and result in phone not being delivered on Friday but I would like to get it earlier in the day if possible. (Also I am on ATT if that factors in at all, although my phone is coming from Apple via the upgrade program)

In my experience, the biggest issue with having it delivered elsewhere is if the new address is serviced by a different local hub. At an old job of mine, whenever I would re-route a package to work or to a UPS store near work it would go from one hub to another before it was sent out for delivery which would result in a delay of one day.

On the other hand, every time I have re-routed a package to the UPS store that is closest to my home, it's delivered to the UPS store the same day it was scheduled to be delivered to my home (even though when making the change UPS estimates a delay of one day).

In the past... there were a VERY VERY few (like one or twe that I remember while still in the tracking threads) that we saw go to northern US states first (I forget if it was Wash or Ore). But ALL the flights we tracked in past years coming to socal ALWAYS went to KY first then onward to socal....

Also remember talking about how "silly" it seemed that it was going to fly all the way past us only to come back....

HOWEVER.... things could have changed this year.....

I just got charged for my two phones, and both are showing up in UPS My Choice now! iPhone 11 64GB Purple (Sim-free version) and iPhone 11 64GB White (Sim-free version). Both ordered at 8:02am Friday.

I’ve never been more ready for anything tech wise than I am this glorious ultra-wide lens.
Weird mine didn't show until today. Maybe because I did in store pickup instead of home delivery?
Wouldn’t take a chance with the store. Always go for a CC center

you do realize you are getting pissed over your need for instant gratification? Your current phone will work just fine until the new one comes. You are making yourself look so petty by acting like a 2 year old who didn’t get his milk and cookies.

Definitely. They have generators in the whole resort so they never lose power either. Wife and kids had a ball, I almost cried when I saw the bill!:eek:
Yeah its insane that they can keep everything running on those generators. Yeah I took everyone to the resort at animal kingdom with all the animals outside your balcony before the summer kicked off. While it was a good time once we left and got the bill I almost shed some tears haha.
